I will definitely get a copy of that.

Also, just a cool tidbit for you: I worked security for the Lone Survivor film set and chatted with Peter Berg while I was there. We discussed Luttrel's book a lot and he put me on it before the movie came out.

I was also in the background of a movie scene hanging out on a fire bottle in front of a MC-130 😁
I was up on that hill once, but long after the battle.
Did a bunch of years in that A.O.
I know that MC-130 quite well. Used to aerial refuel from them. Sucked being on the right hose... Friend of mine, an 0-3 in the Regiment left to join you fly boys. He later piloted 130's.

Yeah, I am going to replace the exhaust at some point, but not until I figure out what skid plate I'm going for. I also dont want an exhaust that's any louder than the OEM, but dont want to pay the ridiculous price for OEM exhaust. Stainless will probably be what I go for, whether I have to upgrade the muffler for quiet afterwards will have to be determined.
Look around for used OEM exhaust take-offs or call your local junkyard. You might get lucky and find OEM for cheap. Call your local reputable muffler shops - they can cut out the damaged piece and custom bend and weld a new pipe. Worth a shot...
I've had custom shops bend pipes for the YJ years ago.

And definitely.... get yourself a good belly skid or skids. Oil pans & tranny's need protection as well as your exhaust.
