I have been very please with JK Lands attention to detail. I was scheduled to pick it up this past weekend. They called with one small detail they said, I would probably never notice, but the owner asked to keep it a bit longer so that he could be 100% satisfied. Obviously the anticipation is killing me, but I can wait for perfection.
I loved working for shop owners that actually cared about the services they provide. Make sure to have him point out that thing you wouldn't see or notice....then post it up.

The owner has been very transparent. He let me know what is going on. He personally puts 100 plus miles on each build to make sure there are no concerns. He said when coming to a stop and the the transmission downshifts it occasionally hits harder than he would like. He has sent the file to AMW to review and see if there is any additional tuning that is needed.

Any updates on this conversion? I've been back and forth bt an old 68-70 c10, C8 Z06, or doing this conversion to my magnusson SC'd JTR. We have a 392 and I absolutely love driving it, but can't help to think another 100+ hp would be the tits! The HC option and up is just for bragging rights imo, would be nice to have, but totally unneeded. That blower scream would be intoxicating tho!
Would love to hear some feedback on how everything turned out?

My motivation for the 426 naturally aspirated was:
-Daily Driver
-More unique than a 392
-perceived less maintenance than a super charger, I have been told as a daily the whine of the super charger gets old after a while
What I have discovered since driving for a couple 1000 miles:
-This thing is a beast. So much fun to drive.
-It can be mild if you want your wife of someone else to drive. You have to intentionally bring it to life, but that can happen quickly.
-It will not bring the attention that a classic car or sports car will, but those that know, know.
My favorite things:
-The sound is amazing
-Plenty of power when you want it.
-When someone realizes its a 426 Hemi they are really impressed. Defiantly just bragging rights.
-Most importantly, I makes me happy and I smile every time I hit the start button
The downside:
-$10k more than a 392
-All I have invested in this Jeep, I could have an amazing classic car. That could only be ran in perfect weather.
-Gotta run 93 octane, I just go ahead and get the 93 E-free
-10 MPG that's driving normally

Hope that helps. I do not regret the decision. I am sure I would have regretted the 392. I know it is not a wise investment and I will never get all my money back. I am fortune to be in a place in life that I can afford it and enjoy it. I plan to keep this Jeep, I have gotten rid of all of my Jeeps for one reason or the other over the last 30 years and regret loosing each one. So with that said it is a great investment in me. Haha.

Thank you for the great feedback! I am going to call AMW and discuss some options.
All the points you made are inline with how I am looking at it. I've had high hp vettes, and they are what they are, fun to drive when the weather is nice, but here in WV, the roads are shyte, and I've always drawn unwanted attention from people wanting to race no matter what they are driving. Old cars are cool, currently building a pro touring LS 67 camaro, but have always had a liking for those c10's even though they have been done and done to death! Nice weather vehicles again however.
Current DD is a 23 raptor, and I have to run 93 in my JTR with the magnusson, so the fuel wouldn't be any different. Something about a V8 JT is just outside the box and exciting for sure!

Is your truck otherwise modded? Lift/tires/gears? I am currently running 39" KM3 with 513 gears, so curious about the gearing? Also, are you on stock axles? Learned a long time ago, if you have a winch, use it, swallowing pride cost much less than replacing axles, but with that said, we wheel light around here bc most trails are nothing but wallored mud holes and we stay away from them.

I am running 37"s and the 3-1/2" Teraflex lift and suspension upgrade recommended by AMW. I had JK Land upgrade the axle shafts to chrome moly, upgraded ball joints, and we swapped to 4.88s. I live in North Florida, we mostly have sand and mud. I am passed the getting crazy stage of my life, so I take it easy as well. I was told that as long as I wasn't doing a lot of banging on the rocks the axle housings will be fine. I tend to prefer the more subtle looking builds.

An interesting comment from the owner of JK Land. He drove mine for a few days to make sure there were no concerns or adjustments needed. His JT is a Hellcat with 1-tons, 40" and all the bells. He is convinced my Jeep would take his out of the whole because of the weight difference and no delay with the super charger. As a DD they were all convinced this was the best set up.

BTW, I love the old Chevys. Before the JT I had a 1970 GMC 3/4, LWB, 4X4, 350 and AT. It was a beautiful truck and got a lot of attention. I just didn't have the time/patience for the constant tinkering that it required. Plus my wife's deal with me is I gotta get rid of one toy to get another. And I really wanted a Gladiator.

Whatever you decide keep us updated.
