So I have had the Jeep into the dealership a few times and they can't find the issue and say there is nothing they can do under warranty without codes...

When I have the jeep in 4x4(H) I'll be going down the road and sometimes it will suddenly say the transfer case is in neutral. The car clearly isn't because I can keep driving but once I slow down the transmission will shift back down and never shift up again if I speed up. The only way to fix it is to come to a complete stop, shift to neutral then actually move the transfer to neutral then back to 2HI of 4HI.

This has put me in some pretty sketchy situation since it's usually when road conditions aren't great anyway.

Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what it could be? @JeepCares?

Update: Video I took after leaving the dealership

Hack service departments and their "I need codes" crap pisses me off. They need to elevate the issue to service engineering and get a star case assigned to it so an actual engineer can give them guidance and steps to get it solved.

Cursory Google search for the same issue on the Wrangler JL side gave me a couple of hits of similar reported symptoms and replacement of the transfer case was the final resolution after adjusting shift cables.

You got a vehicle safety issue and the discussion going forward in my opinion needs to be framed that way in whoever you talk to with either the dealership and/or Stellantis/Jeep.

Sounds like a cable needs adjusted.

So how many times have you had this happen? Obviously enough you have video of it, any other things? Something that could be involved is the "FAD" if it's got more in common with the "CAD" of XJ's and MJ's of the past. They would do some funky stuff.

I had mine in 4hi the other day and it decided it wasn't in 4 W.D. I stopped then shifted to neutral on transmission and back then into 2 W.D. then back 4 W.D.
A one time event as I was driving on a gravel road "I try to use 4 WD at least once a month" if nothing else. At the time the 4x4 didn't light up or went out. I do need to crawl under and check out undercarriage again it's been awhile. I do still need to put a missing bolt back in skid plate too.

None of your business.
A millennial and gen Z’r straight out of college will make more money putting covers on someone else’s TPS report, than a 10 year seasoned and talented Mopar tech that doesn’t get fed gravy all day by the SAs. We’ve allowed this to become normal and get upset when the dealership can’t find, hire, or keep good people. I’ve found this analogous to all the trades now.

I agree something sounds misaligned. Maybe the easy fix for the dealer has become part changing the t-case.

It’s a travesty, but sounds like you need to escalate this to Karen until you get someone to take it seriously.

I had the same damn issue with my rear lockers. Out of nowhere, the damn thing starts blinking like crazy, trying to unlock itself. But I found a way to fix it, man. All you gotta do is come to a complete stop, switch to 4L, turn on the Rear Locker, give it a little drive, and then switch back to 4H. That'll unlock it and stop the blinking.

My problem was that the damn sensor cable on the rear locker was loose as hell. Luckily, it's right there outside the rear axle, so I just had to re-seat that sucker and it was good as new. I'm not sure where the sensor for the transfer case is, but if you can find it, just trace the cable and you might find your problem. Good luck.
