Are you going to drive around with a mismatched wheel or are you paying them to dismount/remount/ balance at least 2 tires so you can get your 5 tire rotation? Rotations are cheap or often free where you buy your tires as it's literally some lug nuts and moving mounted tires around, what you're describing is far from that and should cost you at least $100 every time. 8-10 rotations per set of tires and you just spent the cost of a matching wheel and tire on nothing. There goes the "saving" 20% idea.
You're telling me to mount and balance 2 tires it costs $100? C'mon man.. Maybe $15 a tire at the most. I was genuinely asking because I didn't know if tire shops would do that as part of a normal rotation or charge extra. I agree it may not be worth doing it that's the case

A quick Google search says $15-60 per tire. You're $15 at most is pretty optimistic. Being in CA, the average locally is $50/ tire and very much a waste of time and money. There's a reason why the only 5 tire rotation pictures available show a Wrangler. Yes it can be done with an under bed mounted spare but it's more trouble than it's worth.

Okay, fair enough. I guess we collectively covered the whole price range

Slightly off topic but if I get a 5th wheel/37” tire and plan to keep it in the bed, do I leave the factory spare to protect the bed or is there no added benefit of leaving it and just extra weight? I’m planing to keep a full sized spare for off roading and the factory spare as a donut for back and forth to work. Thanks for any input.

Sometimes you have to double bag if you’re worried about leaking…

Maybe I need to say it a different way so you’ll understand what I’m asking - Does the spare tire protect the bed from underneath when rock crawling or is there no benefit to leaving it on?

Ha ha. I knew what you were asking but was being funny. I doubt very seriously that having the spare under there is protecting much of anything. Given what I've seen if you are forcing something into that space you have other bigger problems with the rear of the truck. Personally, I wouldn't want to carry around the extra weight either.

I do the four tire rotation and have a fifth wheel at the house just in case. The spare is the stock Mojave spare in the stock location since I do not consider it to be a high likelihood of use scenario. I'm also not typically in a position to rip out a sidewall either.
