That's correct. Most everyone that is logging serious miles are using their trucks for work purposes. I did see a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel with over 530,000 miles. It was a mail carrier.

There are quite a few Jeep Grand Cherokees with over 300,000 miles, but keep in mind, many of those Jeeps are now 8 - 12 years old. The 2020 - 2023 Ram and Jeep EcoDiesels are only 3 - 6 years old.

I've got a measly 7,300 miles on my 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel.
"It was a mail carrier" <- I think this to be the opposite of what makes a diesel engine 'happy'. That is impressive that it has made it so far.

I think the stop-and-go traffic and short trip generalization is a misconception. The Europeans have used diesel engines in these types of applications (including taxis) for decades.

My 2015 Ram EcoDiesel is a daily driver. I've been driving it 7 miles to work and 7 miles home for 10 years. Don't get me wrong, I've towed from coast to coast and many places in-between, but overall, it's been short tripped its whole life. It now has 137,000 miles without any engine issues.

Being out on the highway is ideal for engine longevity, but I don't think the short trips and stop-and-go driving conditions are necessarily as bad as what some people want you to believe.

40k were from the original owner so I wouldn’t rate this a huge accomplishment. From here on out though, it’s all me!
Thank you! Your response has been recorded on the front page. Let us know when you reach the next milestone (100,000 miles)!
