That's what the owners manual says for towing for break in. I've got 400 miles down, 100 miles to go. What a Pain In The Ass!

The exact language is OVER 50 MPH and to not make starts at full throttle.

Again, let me say it is a giant Pain in the Ass!

Yes it is. I did mine in stages too. Didn't take too long.

I just read that too. I didnā€™t know that the first 500 miles of towing regardless of non towing miles on the truck also requires a break-in period. At least thatā€™s how I read it.

All the people passing me must think those Jeep pickups are giant pieces shit as the guy can only go 50 pulling the camper.
LOL! that's exactly what I thought too.
I kept to back roads and access roads next to the interstate.

I didnā€™t realize this either. Guess itā€™s too late though for me. My first heavy tow was 500 miles round trip on interstate so I exceeded 50mph for most of it by 10-15mph.

Just get a death grip on the wheel, and stare intently straight ahead, and everyone will think youā€™re scared shitless, and blame you, not the Jeep.

Yep, my first real tow was 900 miles at hiway speeds as well. I guess I better sell. LOL

Well my first tow wonā€™t be until Iā€™ve gotta move across the country next year. Iā€™ll do my best to stay under 50 mph for 500 miles but I doubt Iā€™ll make it far going that slow lol.

Yep, that's how I read it as well. It is a separate break in period for towing. I wonder if it has to do with the computer for transmission and towing?

Yea it definitely could be. I wish they had included those details. Oh wellā€¦Iā€™ll do it correctly, but Iā€™ll complain the entire time šŸ˜„
