I have a 2020 Overland with 6-speed MT, special-ordered, delivered in late July 2020. It was manufactured after the initial clutch overheating problems were supposedly fixed.
After a while, I got a recall notice on the clutch overheating problem. The "fix" as explained in the letter, was to reprogram the ECM so that torque is reduced if the clutch gets too hot. Sounded kind of janky to me, but not wanting to endanger warranty, I had it done. No noticeable change in operation, except now I get gear selection on the screen, which is a nice touch and was not there before the reprogram.
Much later my Service Rep told me the new fix was available, which includes an all-new clutch. That was fine by me, since by that time all warranties were expired and I liked getting a new clutch, which after all is a wear-out part. However, after the job was done the clutch was not operating properly, too soft and not even fully disengaging when pressed to the floor. Service Rep said it just needed a reset, which solved the problem. But a new one emerged.
Periodically I get a message on screen "Service Transmission", which comes and goes at will. My Service Rep is stumped, since a MT should not need "service". He says bring it back in and they will get FCA Engineering on it. Just wondering if anyone else has solved this problem, so I can give my Service Rep a heads up.
BTW, I am a Boomer, who knows how to drive a MT with no danger of abusing the clutch.
