A $132,000 6-wheel-drive Jeep Gladiator pickup truck will be for sale at some Jeep dealerships
April 22, 2021
- A new firm called Next Level unveiled its first product on Wednesday: a six-wheeled Jeep Gladiator.
- The Next Level Jeep Gladiator 6x6 starts at $132,000 and will be sold at select Jeep dealers.
- The company is planning six-wheeled takes on other SUVs and pickups, including the Ford Bronco.
Next Level is a new company building six-wheeled off-road versions of standard SUVs and trucks.
Its first product: the Next Level Jeep Gladiator 6x6.
The beefed-up pickup will be sold at select Jeep dealerships in California, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, and Georgia, a spokesperson told Insider.
It's available to order now for a starting price of $132,000 through a dealer in Huntington Beach, California.
The extra axle isn't just for show — the vehicle comes with full-time four-wheel drive and six-wheel drive on demand.
To accommodate the extra wheels, Next Level extended the Gladiator's bed from five feet to eight feet.
There are three engine options available under the hood, including a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that puts out 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, according to Next Level.
The base four-cylinder engine makes 270 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, the brand says.
Built with off-roading in mind, the truck comes with knobby, 37-inch tires as standard.
The Next Level Gladiator 6x6 also sports a revamped interior with hand-stitched Napa leather seats.
Customers can choose from five seat styles and several colors of leather.
"Sport bolsters provide added support during spirited driving," Next Level says.
Exterior options include an LED light bar on the roof …
… a steel bumper …
… and a winch for getting out of sticky off-road situations.
The 6x6 comes with side steps that automatically retract to aid entry and egress.
Next Level is a new brand from Rezvani, a boutique carmaker known for over-the-top vehicles like a $155,000 military-style SUV called the Tank.
The firm was founded to "take various vehicles to the Next Level of looks, fun, and extremeness," according to a Wednesday press release.
It plans to follow up the Gladiator with six-wheeled versions of the Ford Bronco and F-150, a spokesperson said.
Yesterday I drove To Huntington Beach (what better excuse to go to Duke's at the Pier for Dinner) and took a look at this bad boy. First of all, the vehicle was on the Used Car Lot and I was told the dealer had to sell it as used. The base vehicle was a JT Sport equipped with the same 3.6 gas V-6 and 8 speed auto transmission as my Rubicon. The vehicle is (as I was told) full time 4 wheel drive and 6 wheel drive on demand. That would appear to indicate to me one of the third members is freewheeling until told to [drive] engage. I also saw web info saying the same thing. Salesman said it is geared at 4.88:1. The bed was coated and there were no electrical outlets visible in the bed. The tin work re the stretching was excellent and no visible effects were observed. Interior was gone over and the floor was carpeted. Paint was rough and dull so I assume that was an intended texture. Color was grey. I'll leave this out there for all to see. The base price was $132,000, and the final sticker price was $145,000. the original vehicle sticker was not present. Salesman told me there was no negotiating the price.
One thing that immediately caught my eye was how close the tread of the rear tires were to one another (front to rear) and I wondered if that could be a problem with mud or other debris caught up in the lead tire and fed into the narrow gap between the tires. Just a thought.... Well there it is so go ahead and take a look at the photos....
