Curious if you have installed the Kicker 8” yet and if you wish you would have gotten the 10” or are happy with the 8”

Have not had a chance to install it yet. Between life happening and the weather no time to do it. May have to wait till this saturday. When I can do it at work.

The 8-in and 10-in have the same exact wiring you can swap them out at any time

Finally got everything installed. The 8 inch sub is more than enough at least for the music I listen to. I also replaced the soundbar speakers with JL Audio component speakers. That made a big difference by itself. With the sub going the system sounds 10 times better than stock. I still may change the front speakers but in no rush to do it.

What adapters did you use for the soundbar?

Ok , lets get into this. Going to kill the debate. I bought both the 8 inch kicker hideaway and the 10 inch kicker hideaway. HS8 vs HS10 .

My expectation before the install = they are going to sound about the same. A person on Reddit stated that he hooked up both and could not tell a difference.

BOTH the HS8 and the HS10 use a 14 gauge power wire. That is a pretty thin wire.
HS8 uses an 8 inch sub ,and the HS10 uses a 10 inch sub.
The HS8 is rated at 150 Watts , and the HS10 is rated at 180 Watts . Very Minimal difference .
20 Watt difference is nothing .

After hooking up both subs and adjusting the bass knobs , the difference is VERY VERY minimal .
The HS10 (180W) only has 20 more watts compared to the HS8. You can barely tell a difference . They are both amp/sub combos. They will not hit like a 500 watt subs in box setup. If you had a 180 watt vs 500 watt , you should hear and feel a difference . But , a 150 combo vs a 180 combo , there just ain't that much of a difference.

That's my opinion after purchasing and testing both subs.

I don't know how many amps these subs draw, but 14ga wire can handle up to 20 amps at 12v.

14 gauge wire can handle a lot depending on how long of a run it is.

I think I used the ones that came with the speakers. Crutchfield included adapters but I didn't use them. There are 4 posts on the woofer and the tweeter first connects to included crossover and then connects to 2 of the posts. Then the adapters connect to the other posts on the woofer to the factory wiring. The subwoofer I bought from trailseven and included a harness that they made to install it.
