Getting ready to install this with an ARB Dual Compressor this weekend. Any tips or tricks from anyone that has already installed this? What gauge wire are they using the run to the battery? ARB's is way too short. Also, going to run the purple wire to a VOSwitch panel. What gauge is that wire, I'm sure that's too short too.

Thanks from this newb

I did this mod a few months back. I honestly don't remember what size wire I used but I did add about 10' in order to reach the battery. There is a rubber boot on the passenger side that I believe is associated with the heater/coolant lines that you can penetrate to get the wires through the firewall.

here is a pretty good YouTube video that helped me get through the install. This guy did a really good job showing how to remove panels/molding and how to manipulate the wiring harness if you aren't going to use the lockers.

Thanks, I've seen that as well. I think I'm going to go down the drivers side, and go through the clutch boot, I have an auto. Still going to need more cable.

I went passenger side because I tied in to the Aux Switches and the wiring (inside the cab) for those is on the passenger side. Either way should work fine. As I said though, I did add 10' of wire to the existing harness (soldered and heatshrinked) to make sure I had the length. I did wind up cutting that back by a foot or two once everything was run. The length of the run should be about the same either way.

Yeah, VOSwitch panel is on the drivers side. Thanks again for the info.

You can buy an extended harness on amazon. As far as the purple wire, just use 18 guage more than sufficient for a turn on wire and all you need to connect on that harness is the purple wire to the voswitch, thats it, you can cut or tape up the additional wires.

Thanks, any chance you can link me to the one you used?
Not worried about the purple wire, I will get 18 gauge wire.

While that video is very informative and well done, he did WAY too much extra work with what he had available.
By having the AUX switch package, every wire and grounding point he needed are available in the cab without ever using an AUX switch.

Just search arb harness on amazon, itll pop right up.

Thanks, didn't realize it was an ARB harness. Did you have to splice, or was the 15 ft. enough?

Pulled doors and front fender off to limit contorting my old body into spaces it doesn't fit.

Had to call and audible since I could not for the life of me get those wires through the firewall. Everything too packed in on the drivers side engine bay. Beat the shit out of my hands trying. So, I went through the drain hole on the front passenger side. Ran the purple wire to a VOSwitch, and grounded the black wire to the bolt holding the compressor to the floor.
