Great article. I struggled.
I bought my Mojave intending to put 35s on it and that's it. I wanted tasteful factory looking wheels because teh Mojave wheels are hideous and dull.
I was going to go with one of the Quadratec brand Jeep knock offs in 8.5" wide but then stumbled upon 5 take-off Xtreme Recon wheels/tires/TPMS sensors. I got them with 300 miles on them for $3000 and just sold the 5th for $500. So I'm into them for $2500.
Four BFG K02s in that size are about $400 each mounted and balanced. So I'm into the wheels for roughly $1000. Not bad.
It made a huge improvement in appearance and they drive great on the street. I was willing to do an AEV lift if the truck rubbed or looked "stuffed". But no need. It looks awesome now on its stock suspension (1" factory lift in the front over the Rubicon)
I'm done for now. Though I would like to find either a Jeep front metal bumper and then add a front trailer hitch, or a front bumper with a front hitch receiver for a winch. The only aftermarket bumper with a 2" receiver I've found weighs 145 lbs.
