Some of you may have read my post about receiving two Truxedo Sentry CT tonneau covers damaged. Decided to go with the Undercover Flex Ultra instead of taking a chance on a third.

Well surprise.....

Damaged!!!

The cover has a big scratch. Which I was about ready to deal with because it's on the underside. But both side rails are completely bent at the ends. Not even repairable. The side rails themselves were packaged really well. I'm sure this was the putzes at FedEx. They probably dropped it on it's end off of the back of the truck.

I know Alex @RealTruck is going to take care of this. But I seriously don't even know if I want to keep going down this road.

Have you looked to see if you can buy it locally? I've seen a LOT of reports of them being damaged in shipping. If i ever buy i'll pay the small bit extra to buy from a local shop and not have to deal with the damaged in shipping BS.

I bought a cover off craig's list for my Canyon that was "damaged" in shipping for $300. I didn't care much about the scratches.... Are they asking for them to be returned or are they still just sending new replacements and telling you to dispose of them how ever you wish?

The savings I'm getting are substantial over what I could buy locally.

And yes I have sent the previous two back. But it was just a matter of taping the boxes up and having FedEx pick them up.

I went a different route with similar results. I’ve now had 2 BAK Revolvers that were defective. Alex@RealTruck has provided great service but I’m also looking for a new solution. I was ready to pull the trigger on an RCI Off-road rack (it’s approved for use with the BAK. I’m thinking I might try a retractable cover. Anyone had luck with these? I think I could still use the RCI rack if I shim the side rails.

Picked up mine from my local Jeep dealer for like $200.

Just roll up. Nothing over the moon, but it does what I think it's purpose is for.
I wanted something with more security than a soft roll up.

Not Jeep specific but I had a roll-n-lock retractable on my trailboss…no matter how many times I adjusted it or tightened it…it would constantly pop open while driving. I ended up going with a tri-fold MX4 and haven’t looked back

3 different covers, 2 different brands, bought from same company using same delivery service.

So, it's either the vendor or the shipping company. I'd say give the vendor one more shot but INSIST they use another shipping company. If 4th one comes in damaged, it's the vendor.

The first two it was actually the manufacturer. Miserable packaging. Look for my thread about Truxedo quality.

I saw it, read the multitude of complaints across the internet about FedEx issues.

I went throught the bed cover dance, even fabricated some of my own parts. Finally decided to try the rugged ridge tri-fold. I like that is has cool warnings for the jeep top removed. It also bolts to the truck solid and opens and shuts solid. Like a car door.

I'm sad to hear you're having problems with the BAK Revolver covers. I've been in contact with alex@realtruck about getting an X4s.
Kinda makes me have 2nd thoughts about buying one now.
I've read good things about Real Truck so far and hope they'll take great care of you.
Post updates as you get them.

Same here. I was just about to pull the trigger on a BAK until I caught all the threads on the issues reported on here.

From what I've been reading, it's not really the product that's bad, it's that the covers are getting damaged during shipping.
Not sure there's anything that can be done about that except to return the damaged products.
