The problem is that the original play -and problems, are still there. Masked, but still there. It can only help keep the steering centered while going straight. If the right side has a bad tie rod, that play will still be there and the wheel will be free to take advantage of that play. If there's play in the steering gear - that play will still exist. It's not removing any play at all, because it can't.
The only way that would be possible is if you had a LONG stabilizer that connected to both steering knuckles and forcefully applied pressure to both.
Play is play - play in the tie rods - still there. Play in drag link - still there. Play in steering sector - still there.
I never said it would remove the play?

I wrote that it will amplify it. It's quite possible that a truck with 5° or measured play could end up with 10°+ with a centering stabilizer installed. Every joint between the steering gear and the tie rod where it mounts will be loaded even more than without the stablizer.

But lurkers will assume this is a resolution to all of their problems instead of fixing it - and end up with parts worn a whole lot more, in fact even to the dangerous point because they will no longer feel it. It's like having the nerves in your arm cut to get rid of the pain. You'll never know until too late how bad things are.
I've now owned two JTs, and the steering is absolutely fine. In fact, my wife, used to rack and pinion tighter than crap, close ratio steering says next big trip - we take the truck again. She likes driving it. If it was loose, she'd let me know in no uncertain terms.

yes, not a solution to worn components, but possibly a more comfortable drive if well maintained.

I have not tried it on the jeep but on other vehicles I own, it works like magic.

I will post results soon.

Occasionally I feel like i get pushed by tractor trailers while towing. Would something like this make a meaningful difference?

Im going to test it on the gladiator but i can say on my lifted ram 4x4 i would not tow without it. i can zip by a tractor trailer and not feel the column of air it is pushing when i pass it.

what is actually happening is the air is pushing your vehicle and turning your tires until the lash is taken up in the steering gear so even if you hold your steering wheel straight your wheels are turning away from the air pressure until the play in the steering system is taken up. with a positive centering system there is a resistance to this happening.

I drove my new gladiator home from Tenn. to Florida passing through that last hurricane so I got about 10 hours of getting my ass kicked by wind and tractor trailers in high wind. every time I pulled over I was googling steering upgrades.

I would consider it, but I plan on ram assist in the future that will offer up the best of both! More assist and keeping the vehicle strait in the wind/trucks blowing by.

correct ram assist would make this redundant.

Dual acting cylinder with incompressible fluid for the win...

Well i will be anxiously awaiting your results! Im running nearly stock tires so im not worried about over working the steering components

Ironically I did not get to install this today because my sister flipped her car four times after being hit by a driver having a seizure going 90. Luckily she walked away with a quarter inch tare in her favorite shirt and a sore shoulder from hanging upside down for a while in her seat. Her car is toast.

I’m running the oem hydraulic stabilizer in its oem location and the exact center unit above it. Around the neighborhood it steers / tracks considerably better. I’m getting everything aligned tomorrow then il try it on the highway.

Does it needs to be adjusted for center? how does this works?
Will this correct a Toyo MT radial pull?
Yes it needs to be centered and it will correct a radial or tread pattern pull. I read the instructions and you adjust the nuts on either end to preload it one direction or the other. Much easier than the Safe T Plus!
