So.. this is still a work in progress but here's where I am so far.

My 2020 Sport has full body harnesses running to the doors so I started with the assumption that there was some way to add OEM Power Locks.

Benny over at @AllMoparParts.com set me up with the basic door harnesses and the powered latches:

https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-front-door-wiring-68299333ag
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-front-door-wiring-68299332ag
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-rear-door-wiring-68312445ag
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-rear-door-wiring-68312444ag

https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-front-door-latch-left-68456863aa
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-front-door-latch-right-68282954ab
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-wrangler-jl-left-rear-power-lock-latch-68282961aa
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-wrangler-jl-right-rear-power-lock-latch-68282960aa

Add to that the two lock switches

Left Door - 6AC61DX9AC
Right Door - 6AC64DX9AC

And the jumper harnesses

Left/Drivers = 68351129AD
Right/ Pass = 68351131AC

The wiring is basically the same as the JL. Lots of examples floating around including this thread:
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/installed-power-door-locks-to-my-jl-sport.16398/

Wired it all in and enabled "power locks" using ALFAOBD and voila .... the lock switches work and I can instruct the doors to lock and unlock using the BCM commands.

So that just leaves a remote key of some sort.... And I'm trying to keep it OEM and avoid splicing in an aftermarket alarm for the door controls.

I ordered a black three button key (lock/unlock/alarm) and after some frustration and a call to a locksmith who could retrieve the PIN, I could program the key but the buttons don't work. I suspect that's because the Sport doesn't actually have the receiving components in the RFHub.

I also tried ordering a Remote Starter kit.. that comes with a new RFHub and two keys. Swapped that in (breaking a bunch of plastic on the rear interior trim in the process). Sadly... I can't retrieve the required PIN to marry the new RFHub with the jeep. ALFAOBD retrieves a pin but its not the right one. Sadly the locksmith I use for the first key needed the car in RUN to pull the pin.. So he can't pull the PIN from the new hub since you can't turn on the Jeep yet... So, I while I think that will still work, I'd probably have to breakdown and find a dealer that was willing to do the install and program the various sales options needed. The first couple I talked two won't do it .. "Sport can't have remote start".... I've seen a couple of threads with people starting this process but never heard the results...

Now, while I was playing with ALFAOBD, I noticed there is a function to location your key fobs ... Sure enough that works.... more interesting, it appears my Gladiator has sensors in the B pillars and the Jeep is able to detect a key fob outside the door. This leads me to believe the passive door handles might actually work and since the door harnesses above are the same ones used with passive handles, I've ordered a passive handle to see how that works... Should be here Tuesday.

Stay tuned to another installment of "how to make a Sport a Sport S" .......

Success !! (well mostly).

Added the passive door handles, activated Passive Entry in your favorite programmer (Tazer, Jscan, OlfaODB) and and it all just works...

Handles - 68307269AD (x2)
Handle Caps - 68307272AD (x2)

So I don' have remotes with fancy buttons but I no longer need to dig out a key to unlock or lock the doors.

Amazing!

So does the passive handle unlock all of the doors when you approach the vehicle?

And do you have any plans to add a fancy remote? Or are you calling it good enough?

You have to physically grab the handle to unlock and then press the button on the handle to lock but yes it unlocks/locks all the doors at once.

"All doors" is actually an option you set in the BCM configuration as the default is only one door. Default is also the annoying "honk" on lock so I turned that off too.

I probably won't bother with the fancy remote as we have that on our other jeep and basically never take the keys out to use the buttons. Once you get use to the passive handles, its becomes something you just take for granted.

Hey man, I bought a 22 willys sport wrangler... no power locks. The only component I can't get a part number on is the harness that connects the driver door to the BCM (runs through the dash). Any way you could help me get a part number for that?? I would love the OEM system, I'll probably try to locate the RF module too if the key fob don't work, but passive entry is excellent, all I used on my hellcat, never took the keys out either!

My understanding is you would have to run individual wires back from the door to the BCM and insert the pins as needed. Replacing the entire dash body harness would be a massive job. I did the wire/pin routine on a JK years ago but thankfully didn't have to figure it out this time.

What made this easy on the Gladiator is (at least on mine) the full body harness and the proximity sensors in the door pillars were already there. I only had to mess with the door internals. I honestly don't know if that's the same with the JL or not. I'd suggest starting by picking up JSCAN or OLFAODB and see if your BCM recognizes your keys as being inside or outside and at which door....

There are a couple really long threads over on the JL Forums that talk about the various options for the Wranglers. Last I looked there were wiring diagrams for the doors but I'm not sure which BCM plug and which pins are needed on the body side.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...emote-start-to-jeep-sport-unlimited-jl.61486/

There are a lot of differences between the various models (both for JT and JL) and what wiring is or isn't present for any given year....

Thanks for the info. Yeah I have JScan. I'll try to figure out which wires go where then. I think I did see a diagram for it... could you possibly show me what a full harness looks like just to make sure. I assume the 4 wires on mine are not gonna cut it... I attached the (base) lovk diagram too, can't tell if those alone would allow power locks? Seems to match what I've got though.

How do you tell on jscan if it's recognizing your keys outside with sensors? It definitely knows when my key leaves cause it honks 3 times. But I don't know how to check if it knows the passwnger side as well.

I think you're in the right track. I remember one person that was successful using the remote start kit & enabled both at the dealership using the sales codes. That person also struggled to find a dealership that would do it. Eventually, he found one though. He basically walked them through the process and it worked. This was on a Wrangler. You're the first, confirmed, that I've heard that has successfully done it in a Gladiator.

I think the issue that people ran into wasn't the "Sport" trim issue. It was remote start with a manual transmission. It probably only work for automatics because you can't get remote start with a manual. Regardless of what trim you have.

Does that mean if you already have remote unlocking, adding the above plus OBD programming gets you passive entry?

Sorry DarkHorse... I tried to figure it out but haven't had the time to dig through all the menus. Its should be under the Radio Frequency module. There are options in there to scan for FOBs and then look for the locations. I was using OLFA mostly during my work.

Depends somewhat on the model you have I believe. You probably need to replace the wiring harness inside the door so it has the pigtail needed to plug into the ends of the handles. I didn't but I had already replaced the full harnesses when I did the locks.

Several places sell the full retrofits including AllMoparParts ...
https://www.allmoparparts.com/part-model/jeep-gladiator-passive-entry-kit.html

Lots of instructions around on doing this including over on the JL forums
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...nstructions-parts-links-on-jl-wrangler.49241/

But basically, once you do that you just need a OBD programmer (Tazer, Jscan, OLFA etc..) to enable it and it just works.... Or you convince your dealer to add the GXD sales code :)
