Criswell is well known for bait and switch on prices, trades, etc. I've had several run in's with them and that sales person as well. Waste of time

Plenty of dealers willing to deal out there. I ended up ordering from Gupton and had no issues
Emailed Daniel at Gupton yesterday afternoon. My family has a place just outside of Knoxville so Going through gupton will give me a reason to hang out down there for a week haha

Not all companies are like that. I worked for Honda a little more than 10 years ago. As a salesman, I took pride in knowing things about the vehicle that other salesman didn't. I did my research like crazy, yet there'd still be a time or two when the customer asked for something and I didn't know wtf they were talking about. It happens. Also, especially at Honda, I would get people coming in who did too much research, who were basically spitting out line for line what they'd just read on the internet and not everything you research is accurate. So there's pros and cons to both the salesman AND the customer experience.

I worked at a Honda dealer as well and can vouch that our sales team was pretty good. But if a customer sent them a screenshot from the manufacturer website of features they would have conceded that it probably existed ?

Very true! I think more often than not I saw people coming in with Toyota options thinking they could have those same options on their Honda lol

I get it, but the difference here is I was not just looking at "random stuff" on the internet, I am referring to Honda's official website. These were options CLEARLY on Honda's website for an Accord Hybrid EX-L to be specific. The salesguy was bragging about he's been the top salesguy for 17 years and I asked about the Black accent package (there's also a Gold and silver accent package) as an option, and he was clueless, so was his sales manager. I was literally astonished to find out these guys were clueless. WTF?? ITS RIGHT ON HONDA'S WEBSITE. By the way, I just checked Honda's website and these packages are STILL available as options. I'm NOT saying that every salesperson should know everything, (I make mistakes also) but it's basic knowledge in this case is to know the options of the vehicles.

Another issue with Honda? I'm not seeing the option now, (Honda made a change) but when we purchased our Honda, the Blackout package included a 19" wheel (standard is 17") and they sold you the package with the Blackout package and wheels, but what was NOT included was the tires???? HOW do you sell an upgraded package with a larger size wheel and no tire?? I skipped the blackout package from Honda- did it myself and also saved a decent chunk of change.

If they treat you like that before the sale, you'll never get anything accomplished after the sale. Walk.

Just wanted to post an update that I requested my order canceled and to have my deposit refunded yesterday afternoon. Appreciate everyone’s advice and suggestions for other dealers/salespeople. We’ve decided pushing the gladiator off a bit is best for us, so it’s looking like we’re going to keep an eye on the 4xe timeline now. Hope to join you all next year!

Over the years, I've generally found that most sales people know little to fuck all about the vehicles they're selling. Especially as a Jeep Nerd, the dumb sales people I've spoken to really annoying the hell out of me.

Dealers are some of the dumbest people. When I was shopping for someone to order my gladiator, I contacted 30 dealerships with a list of exactly what build I wanted, just asking for a price quote via email because I prefer to not use phone calls. ONE actually gave me a quote. The rest either didn't reply, tried to call me over and over, replied with questions like "ok, what are you looking for?" despite me already telling them exactly that, and one even replied with a list of his entire inventory. Not just gladiators but his ENTIRE inventory, mostly ram trucks.

I bought from the one that actually gave me the quote I asked for.

literally flying to Nashville and back same day next week to look at a travel trailer. Give me his name I’m not scare of a little traveling haha
If you’re good traveling to Nashville, order from Gupton Motors. They’re about 40 minutes north of Nashville and the experience was phenomenal, start to finish. Got exactly what I ordered in less than 3 months, and got ~7% under invoice. Renee and Daniel were fantastic and very easy to work with. Lots of info on the forum here, which is why I decided to order from them back in March. I flew from Tampa to pick up my Mojave in early June, and they even arranged for someone to pick me up at the airport. He was there waiting for me when I landed. Cannot recommend Gupton enough!!

yeah I’ll be going with gupton when we’re ready to buy again. My family has a place near Knoxville so it’ll be a good chance to make atrip out of it
