Advice on Wheel Selection

Hi, Soon to be Gladiator owner. Fingers crossed it arrives in the next couple of weeks. I wanted to run this past the forum to make sure my combo will work ok. I purchased a JT Rubicon Diesel. I have ordered the Mopar 2" lift & BFG KO2 37 12.5 17 Load C. I'm trying to finalize my wheel purchase, but wanted to see if you think I'll have any fitment issues. I had picked out the KMC Roswell in the 17x8.5 with +18 Offset. I really prefer to have my tires flush / minimal poke. I believe I have read that I could go as high as +25, but this wheel is +18. Since I'm pulling the wheel in, do you think I'll have any clearance issues with lower control arms / or any other part? I feel like this will give me about 1/2" of poke or so. Also, if I need to replace the Mopar lower control arms for an adjustable arm (if alignment issues require), would that likely pose any problem? Lastly, I felt like this was a pretty "light" combo. The BFG Load C were fairly light for a small 37, and the Roswell's are only 26 lbs ea. Do you think I should be able to turn this ok with the diesel without any re-gear? Thanks a lot for the advice!

You're not pulling the wheel in, you're actually pushing it out.

Factory wheels are +44.45 mm. So you're pushing out about 1" further.

I have the the Mopar lift on my '20 JTR. I have 37x12.5x17 BFG KM3's. 17x9.5 Black Rhino rims have a -18mm offset. Here's a front view of how the tire sits:

My alignment has been spot on with the Mopar LCA's. You can always add a different LCA if you want/need to. I have the 3.6L with the auto trans, and I haven't had a single problem to suggest I needed to re-gear. I would think the diesel would be fine with your setup. Just depends on how you drive it, and your personal preference. Drive it for a while after the install. That should tell you if you need to re-gear or not.

If the Jeep/Mopar engineers believed that control arms needed to be changed they would have had that included in the Kit.. Just an FYI.. the AEV 2.5" Dual Sport Lift does not include new control arms. I did put GC Brackets on when the lift was installed on the JKU and the alignment specs were good in range; as previously noted you can always add adjustable control arms if need. All the posts on the wheels look Good. The day the Mojave comes in/ and home I'll put the 35/11.50 Toyo OC ATIII on which are mounted on American Racing Legend ATX 17x8.5" with 4.25 backspace and -12 offset.

The Mopar arms have a bend inward and accommodate tires better than most aftermarket arms, the joints just don’t flex as much as some aftermarket arms do. That’s why Mopar/AEV don’t require wheels with negative offset like most aftermarket arms do.

mopar (With or without geometry brackets) or aev lift should work fine

Good choice on the +18 another good option is the AEV wheels which are +25. IMO when the tires stick out beyond the fenders more than a half inch or so it looks like you bought the wrong wheels or you are going for the bro dozer look, smh

This is the rim you are looking at in a 315. I think you will be fine with 37s and a 2” lift.
