In 2022, my son bought the extended Jeep warranty that included coverage for lifting his Gladiator. After the jeep was lifted, they won’t even change the oil…so much for the lift warranty.
You got a dealer problem, not a warranty one.

Well, I have worked with three dealers and my brother traveled in a motorhome so visited dealers all over the country and got the same response from Jeep when it came time to approve the warranty repair, so this IS NOT a dealer problem. It’s a systemic Jeep brand problem.

I was talking about them not doing an oil change because of the lift. That has noting to do with warranty.

100% absolute fuckin truth right here.

The fine print in extended warranties have a loophole for every to avoid actually paying out. I got burned once before back in 2005.....never again.
100% 💯 % agree Warranties are a joke a money rip off scam others are right if ya want something done right do it yourself

Get the warranty. There are known issues with the turbo actuator in hotter climates (more-so with long grades or towing) due to inefficient cooling. The turbo replacement is engine out. Buy an 8yr/125k MOPAR max care (I went through Tom winkels at Hayes Jeep and paid $2700 for an 8/125k with a $200 deductible, 3 years ago). By stellantis’ own estimations, 10% of these Ecodiesel’s will experience major engine damage or failure by 150,000 miles (B10 service life of 150,000 miles). In comparison the current Cummins 6.7 has a b10 service life at 250k miles, b50 at 350k. Presently, the ecodiesel engine runs ~$9500, labor excluded. The turbo replacement is $4k, including labor. If you plan to drive it less than 125k miles or if it’ll mostly live an easy life, then it may be worth it. Gone are the days of the 1mil mile 12v’s.

71k on mine, EGR failure which wiped out the intake manifold, rear axle seal failure, multiple p00AF codes (unloaded). I love it and I’ll drive it right up until that 125k mark, but no more.

…it would be good to read the fine print on lifts and bigger tires…BEFORE you buy the warranty. Don’t rely on anything said verbally…in writing is what matters…

Agreed. Best to have your local dealership install the mopar lift just in case, even if it’s easy to install DIY. Stellantis is VERY strict with warranty claims these days. Much worse than FCA was.
