The air dam is that hunk of plastic under the engine, at the front end, that supposedly protects the engine.

It's an air dam - to divert air away from the blocky, complex undercarriage. Not to protect anything, but to smooth the transition of the air to under the vehicle.

You are correct but we all knew what he was referring too. Oh, and I removed the air dam from underneath as well as long as the walrus tusks.
