Thoughts on Removing the Plastic Air Dam

I had my lift kit and steering stabilizers installed this week, so naturally, I'm now considering options to dress up the look under the front bumper and inside the wheel wells. I'm starting to wonder if I'd be better off removing the plastic air dam entirely. I did notice on my last car wash visit the thing was carrying a ton of loose gravel.

Has anyone removed the plastic air dam from the front for aesthetic purposes? Do y'all have any thoughts on the pros or cons of just removing it—any other options I should consider?

I am in agreement. But on a more practical bend, that air dam does keep a lot of road crap from beating on your bottom front end bits. If there are some pebbles that are ending up in the rear of it, then imagine how many its deflecting from the same locations.

On my Mojave, there is always some road detritus caught in the curve around the shock reservoirs, and I have to powerwash it out. Glad to do so.

I removed mine because I did some custom stuff to my factory bumper. Its currently blocking a hole in the fence, lol.

I thought about putting it back to see if it made any different in MPG since I commute 70 miles a day. It pushes the air down under the front axle.

The Air dam creates a low-pressure zone, venture effect. This helps at highway speeds, for the radiator CFM airflow to improve, which helps with engine cooling.
