Max Tow either, I had 35's on mine with no lift and no rub on stock wheels with no spacers.
If you disconnect the swaybar you'll rub the fenders on max tow since they're lower. But yeah for street only I actually stuffed 37s no lift on the Rubicon and had no issues so 35 max tow should fit too.

Due to articulation? And the higher wheel pushing up at quite an angle?

Yup, that was exactly what was happening to me, with it disconnected at the extra flex with one up and the other down the edge of the tire coming up would push up on the fender and rub it pretty heavily.
