I have a 2021 JTR gas with the 8.4” Alpine system. When I ordered my Gladiator, I specifically ordered it without the removable speaker as I could not envision removing the speaker and using it outside of the Gladiator. My question is, what can I do to upgrade my current sound system without removing the Alpine system? I’m hoping that there are some plug and play upgrades?

Check out the threads on replacing the speakers. There are some very easy and effective options.

Right off the bat easy, replace the dash corner speakers (takes 5 minutes). There are several sound bar replacement options; I did the 6x9 conversion, but there are pod versions as well. For bass, I highly recommend the JL stealthbox, not plug and play, but not hard to install. Fit and finish is top notch, wiring, as simple as installing an amplifier and tapping into speaker wires behind lower B-pillar on the passenger side. There are youtube videos for this.

Agree with above. Single biggest and easiest upgrade to the Alpine is to replace dash speakers with either the Kenwood KFC-X3C or the Infinity REF-3032CFX. Both options are under $100, take all of 10 minutes, and make a noticeable improvement in sound quality.
