Alpine with 5.0" Uconnect

Will Jeep offer alpine on the 5.0" Uconnect without having to upgrade to the 7.0" like you can get on the Sport S Wrangler JL?

I suppose they could at some point. If I recall, the 2018 JL didn’t offer the Alpine with the 5” Uconnect. The 2020 JLU can be had with LEDs. That’s the first they’ve done that. But, at the end of the day, there is no way for anyone here to predict what Jeep will do.

IMO, the best reason to get the 5” is if you plan to replace it with an aftermarket unit. that should be the head unit, amps, and speakers. The alpine speaker upgrade isn’t bad but you can do much better in the aftermarket if you choose to do so.

BTW, an alpine rep told me that their replacement head unit for the JL will be available this fall.
