Alternative to rock rails and steps

So I dont currently need rock rails and while I could use side steps for my shorter family members to climb into the Gladiator, I dont like how low they go. Also the $600-800 is too much for me right now

But I do want to protect the metal that is hanging under the door where rails and steps would attach to. My concern is debris from pavement and the elements will make this the first place to show signs if wear and get rust. Any alternatives or ideas on how to protect it?

Just because you don’t want rock rails doesn’t mean that isn’t your cheapest option of protecting that area. You can buy Rubi takeoffs for under 300 bucks

That is what I learned after making this post. Working on getting a set. Confirmed that they are compatible with the Sport models

So a compromise between the rubi rails and the rhino hide could be as simple as Vehicle wrap. Not the whole vehicle but to a logical body line using a solid or clear format. - Even self applied its cost effective - lasts 3-5 years and isn't difficult to replace or change.
