I ordered a Jeep Gladiator Sport S Max Tow due to arrive late September, and I'm trying to map out if this thing will fit into my garage as an overland build.

Garage door entrance is 7'11. I believe the Sport S Max Tow roof is 75 inches tall on 31.5 inch wheels.
  • Stock Max Tow: 75 inches tall
  • Lift Kit: Adds 2.5 inches
  • 35" Tires: Adds (35-31.5)/2 = 1.75 inches over stock
  • Rooftop Tent: Sits ~2 inches above roof and is 12 inches tall, so add 14 inches.
75 + 2.5 + 1.75 + 14 = 93.25 inches = 7'9-7'10

So looks like I should just barely fit by 7'11 garage?

Going to be hard to make it fit. Once you add the Alu-Cab you will need to add stiffer springs. I think the majority of HD springs are going to be at least 2” lift. I have Dobison 2” springs in the rear and the top of the camper is over 8’ (without the Maxtrax mounted). I have the low mount for the load bars, the load bars add approx .75”

Hmm, what size tire are you sitting on?

The lift that I’m looking at is Clayton Overland 2.5, which I would hope comes with appropriate springs already.

I’m just looking to get it in the garage once for the whole winter (won’t be driven) so maybe I’d even put the stock wheels/tires back on, air down and leave her on stands until spring …

Your Garage door opening may be 7'11", but does the door hang lower than the opening when fully opened up?

I'm on a AEV 3" HD lift with a simple RTT that sits directly on top of the canopy and I think even I am too tall for your garage. Stock 33's. I think the only way you can make it work is by removing your lift, going to stock height, stock tires and then you can probably barely squeak by. I think there was another guy here last year that had this same situation and thats what they did. Dobinson I think does have stock height springs that will support the extra weight.

Dang! Would 9 ft clearance be plenty?

Time to figure out what it would cost to upgrade the door on the garage. Kidding! Or am I 🙃

I have BFG KM3s / 35". The Clayton may or may not have the springs you need, depends if they are rated for that much weight.

I have a stock(so far) ‘23 Rubicon with a Harker EXO camper cap and airlift 1000. It fits in a 7’ garage door with room to spare for 35’s and a 1-2 inch lift. Don’t forget squat in your calcs. I dropped 1” with the cap and about 300 lbs load.
