Last weekend while at AOAA there were times where I was off camber or slightly twisted in some of the rocks and trails. I’ll post pics below of the pitch/roll at the time but as you will see it wasn’t anything crazy - definitely not what I see people doing in pics of Moab or some place similar for example. What got my attention though was that the roof made some pretty loud squeaking and sort of cracking noises.
My question is: would we be better off with a stamped honey comb aluminum panel roof vs. the fiberglass? Is this twisting, cracking fiberglass roof why so many people have window leaks? I don’t even know if an aluminum roof would be practical or ridiculously expensive or maybe somehow be worse, just throwing this out here for conversation.
