Sounds to me that you are an automotive enthusiast. I used to be into everything fast, including sport bikes. Then there was a period in my life when I was switching back and forth between performance and off road utility Because I couldn’t decide. Now in my upper mid life, I’m all off road.

I would say if you are asking these questions, you may or may not be ready but likely switch over Eventually.

I drove a Hemi Challenger 10 years. Before that I drove a Mustang Mach 1 for eight years, before that, going back to the '70s I owned and drove a variety of muscle cars. I also had a couple of Dodge Power Wagons, a '74 and a '77. I traded my last Challenger for my Gladiator, and I truly enjoy the Gladiator every time I drive it. The way it drives reminds me of those Power Wagons back in the day. I will join the people who are saying trade the Maverick. I also drive my wife's Charger at times, but find that I prefer to drive my Gladiator.

Haha I’ve been in same exact spot, riding rice rockets, swapping cars almost every year… With Gladiator it all stopped, I guess with age fast and dumb got replaced by slow and steady. Jeep does have a number of downsides, but smiles per mile outweigh them all.

If you don't worry about having to go fast and a nice 0-60 to impress others, I think you'll really enjoy a Gladiator or Wrangler.

Especially when it's time to take the top or doors off. Hard to get more smiles per gallon.

Came from an SQ5 and before that an SS camaro. Any speed I miss quickly disappears when I take a look at my glady in the driveway, stocked up with grill, cooler, and then I drive on the beach and all is well in the world.

Could always supercharge it if you want a little extra but I never found the want or need. At least not yet

Like others have said, trade in the Maverick. Keep the Charger. Park it in your garage next to your new Jeep Truck! Buy a Mopar flag on eBay and hang it on the back wall of your garage behind both vehicles. Boom all of your bases covered ?

so this is a gladiator forum, you'll have pages of get a gladiator! I'll tell you that you will miss the fast car. I replaced a bmw convertible and tacoma with the gladiator. I don't regret it, but miss the ease of cruising in the bmw and the reliability of the taco.
The gladiator has had me doing things I'd never do in the taco, and I love it, and the ease of doing 80 in comfortable seats with in the bmw is missed.

You mentioned that you drove it with the "freedom" panels off. Try going "topless" roof and doors off. My wife said it was like riding in a boat on the road. A lot of fun ! Also, you may wish to consider an "Overland" or "Sport". As I understand the Rubicon gas milage is lower, but a Rubicon is a "Rubicon".

I ordered a 2019 Challenger R/T and while it only gets driven on fair weather summer days, I will not part with it. Way too much fun.

Certainly, it could never take the place of my Mojave. Fun in a 100% different kind of way.

Life is short. Trade the Maverick for close to what you paid because they are in such demand, KEEP the Charger cause once that's gone, it's gone. Get that Rubicon. It will put a smile on your face that no Maverick ever will. Then take the panels off and enjoy the attention that it gets! ;)
