So where is the phone, then? You say you have a cable plugged into the USB C in the console, then where's the phone?I really don't quite get the need to have the phone in view and readily accessible unless you're using it to record video?
I keep a cable plugged into the USB c in the console and plug the phone in as soon as I get in. Android Auto takes care of maps (Waze), music (Auri), and if I need to text or talk I either tap the screen or say, "Hey Google".
I've used it for years on other vehicles and have become very accustomed to it.
(I haven't use the USB slot inside the console in months - too much stuff in the console to get to it. My wife wanted to put a kitchen sink in there but we ran out of room)
