BINGO! I just had time to troubleshoot and I found a remedy.

It was the most recent Android Auto update that brought on this negative quirk.

Anyway, I uninstalled Android Auto on my Samsung S25 and then reinstalled an older Android Auto apk. (Version 14.6.658544-release) This remedied the issue. I have auto app updates turned off so I can keep this version of Android Auto for now.

This was the exact answer I was looking for. My AA has been messed up for the last few weeks. I rebooted my phone, 8.4 UConnect, uninstalled Waze and Google Maps. Nothing worked except reverting to an older version of AA.

I just took my JTR for a test drive and all is well in the world again.

Suggest you uninstall updates in regard to Android Auto and then load Version 14.6.658544-
release not 14.7 .

Do this and there is no question the issue will be resolved.

@Dreaded1

Glad the info I provided helped you. Be sure to turn off auto app updates and obviously do not update Android Auto.

ALSO.... Do keep a copy of the Android Auto release you used to remedy the issue on your phone in a folder. This way, if inadvertently Android Auto does update and you are faced with the negative quirk... that you can quickly square things away again.

I had the same issue after they updated the head unit while I was getting a key programmed. Any Waze alerts will immediately silent SXM until I unplug and replug the phone. I'll probably just turn off notifications for now. Also got some faint static in the rear speakers when it does this.

Did not work for me, deleted AA, and uploaded from the new app store. Still having the same issue. I think the app store app is the new one causing the issues.

@Casique

After I discovered the work around to get past this negative quirk I posted the work around on FB on this forum and a couple of other internet forums. ALL that did exactly as I instructed got past/got rid of the negative quirk.

My guess is after you uninstalled updates in regard to Android Auto, you did not install the older version of Android Auto as I recommended. You installed the release version currently offered at Play Store which is a problematic release.

Anyway, you need to use the older Android Auto apk.... (Version 14.6.658544-release)
Obtain the older release version here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...uto-14-6-658544-release-android-apk-download/

I noticed this too, mine is sporadic though. The volume gets stuck and the neither the know or wheel buttons will change the volume. I get this behavior on aa wireless, radio and SXM. Turning off the head unit restores it, it's annoying. I'm thinking its probably a combination of updates between AA and u connect.

@brsnow2585

It's the most recent Android Auto release (app) that is causing the problem. Can't blame UConnect for this. Take the most recent Android Auto release out of the mix, update AA with an older release version of AA and the issue is remedied.

Mine isn't isolated to AA, I get the stuck volume on FM and Sirius too.

Have you tried the deed I mentioned to see if it remedied your issues. Good chance it will.
My Sirius and FM were negatively impacted but no longer are, thanks to going back to an earlier AA version release.

Only take a few minutes to try...
