Does anyone use this? Thoughts and reviews? Currently looking at a Sunrider and ran across this. Other than figuring out how to remove the whole top (may be a bit tricky with flapping panels) looks like a pretty good idea to me!

i had ez flip in my previous jeep gladiator install was very easy the hinges install with 3m industrial tape you have the option to put screws which i did not
once installed open the top the same way you remove, if you need to remove the whole panel you can take out the screws on the hinge
removing the product from the topcould be very difficult
i always used it on the trail or city streets never on the freeway at 60 or more miles per hour, the product is very good quality but i do not have long terms reviews i can not know if the sun dirt, bugs grime on the road will damage the inside of the panels or could damage the tape or the adhesion i only had them in use for 2 months and they went away on the gladiator when i sold it I didn’t even try to remove

Thanks! I like a few things about the concept
1. Price...about 1/2 the cost of the Sunrider
2. Security remains the same as stock
3. Insulation remains the same as stock
4. Noise levels remain the same as stock

Cons I see
1. That 3M VHB glue is damn near permanent. If I wanted to remove, I think I'd at least mess up the hard top coating.
2. As you mentioned, I think I'd be cleaning the panels quite a bit

Decisions, Decisions

There always seems to be some cons. Why can't anything be perfect?

I’ve had them for 2 years. Love them!

That's a sharp looking ride.
Can you give us a better review?
Do you use it at speeds? Noisy when open at speeds? How secure when open? Did you install the extra screws? Do you have any of the various headliners, if so, how dow they do at speeds when open? Etc...
Thanks.

I have used them up to about 60mph. No rattling, no vibrations. I just installed with the adhesive, no screws. I also have a sunrider but I just feel like it is too noisy on the highway. I have the OEM hardtop headliner, no issues with the freedom panels open.

I have them. I agree with all your Pros, not concerned with your Cons. I bolted the hinges down. I don’t think the tape is good enough to be used alone. Easy to flip, maybe not so much for short people.

To install the rear bolts you do need to slide the top back a bit gain access the the bolts which come out over the sound bar.

I had the Sunrider on my previous Jeep and did like the ease of flipping without getting out of the car. Didn’t like the noise. Didn’t like the price.

I guess this has a purpose for some folks….. For us…it hasn’t been difficult to take the freedom panels out and store them in the ‘bag’ in the bed or at home.

I would love to see someone design the Sunrider to use the same mounting points as the freedom panels - so it’s an easy & quick install & removal. 😉

I absolutely love my Sunrider. it's an easy install and removal. It's a quick open and close.... Unhook two clamps and swing it back. No permanent install marks, holes or damage. Keeps your panels free from scratches, and other installation damage. Well worth the price.

This is probably the best summary of the two options. The biggest pro for the EZ Flip is the cost, noise and security. Everything else is better with less damage for the Sunrider. And my theory is if you live in a place where someone is willing to destroy a Sunrider to get into your vehicle then you should move.

When I had a Sunrider on my now sold Wrangler JK, I showed it to a friend and he was very interested in getting one. for is JKU. His main concern was security as his Jeep had already been broken into.
