My steering wheel is starting to show wear. Maybe all the hand sanitizer I’ve been using but are there any decent steering wheel covers out there? I’ve tried looking and most of them seem tacky. If your running a steering wheel cover share with me

As a former parts store manager, I can assure you that any steering wheel covers you find are likely going to be "ok" at best. That being said, I have seen people wrap their steering wheels in paracord instead of buying a cheesy parts store wheel cover. Maybe something to look into...

Regarding the auto parts store variety, I’ve only seen them destroy steering wheels as they disintegrate.

I worked for a company that had a small fleet of vehicles, many drivers felt the need for covers and they all looked like hot garbage after a year tops. The trucks without covers just looked like normal wear, kind of worn smooth. The covered ones looked like an old black sponge as the outside was eaten through in spots - not sure what exactly was happening to cause the rapid deterioration.

order a leather wrap from amazon (Superskin Steering Wheel Cover, Genuine Leather) the kind you have to stitch shut. They are very nice and durable if you take your time with the stitching. Did one to a 2001 civic where the foam was alligator-ing. The leather cover hid all that and made it nice to touch.

tip, use a hook shaped pick and or a 90 degree pick to help pull the thread tight.
