Want to upgrade the bumper, but need the front hitch for a cooler/rod rack, and don't like the idea of hacking up a new bumper to make it all fit and look good. Front bumper doesn't need to be winch-ready

I have a Curt front receiver on an Overland with the factory bumper. The receiver sits about a half inch below the bumper. I can get a picture, if you want.

Thanks Mr. Bill,
I already have the receiver installed on my Sport S Max-tow with the stock front bumper (pre Rubi takeoff springs and Daystar 3/4" spacer)......had to "notch" the underside of the front bumper about 2"......

ya know.......I've never even looked at it since I did the suspension upgrade......I'm wondering if I have a huge ugly, unnecessary notch up front now ??? LOL ! Obviously a mod NOT thought out properly ! Now I have an excuse to buy a front bumper .....great, now I have to decide on a bumper AND wheels !

I have been researching this as I have a Curt front receiver hitch. I was going with the fish bone mid with and it will not work with the hitch.

Rockhard 4x4 offers many of their bumpers with or without a integrated 2" receiver. Not cheap but the quality is top tier and made in the US.

I'm actually ordering the RockHard sliders as we speak..... any input ?
Angled up or angled down ? I will likely NEVER go rock crawling, Most of my time will be spent on the beach in DE.....but I like the fact that RockHards cover the pinch weld AND i get a "sorta" step outta them too !

I love them too ! BUT, $650 PLUS another $175 for shipping is a pretty steep price.....possibly steep enough send me back to the search browser again. I've already e-mailed them.....they don't plan on doing any Black Friday sales or discounts either....they say they are "swamped" (I even pushed for the senior discount)
I had just psyched myself up for the $650 sticker price.....and then they hit me with the $175 for shipping.....INSTANT DEPRESSION

That’ll go away immediately after you unbox them and get them installed.

I have the steel bumper - and steel skid plate - and had to remove my receiver because with those nuts in the frame and the SKID PLATE BRACKETS installed, there wasn't enough space between the frame horns to put the receiver back. It's too tight by a good 3/8".

The receiver bolts up where these brackets for the skid plate go...... receiver will no longer fit with these brackets.

Yea...….I ordered them...….But, I went thru Q-tech and got "free shipping"....and yea, I know its probably gonna be a few weeks longer.....but $175 is a few more things I can buy rather than pay for a pallet and a week or two earlier delivery ! IMO anyway

Liquor Attorney. So not all bad...

I researched this a bit. Called Rockhard 4x4 - very nice and straight up. They said the front receiver on their front bumper was designed for mounting bike racks. I explained my intended use (pushing a boat down a long narrow launch in a remote lake I like) and Rockhard said they didn't design their bumper for that kind use. I get it though - a full strength class III hitch mounted on the front takes a lot more steel to integrate into a bumper. Agree a curt hitch would work and they seem to have that application available standard so I might have to fabricate something... anyway sorry for rambling. My point is that the Rockhard 4x4 will not do what a staight up Curt will do...

It's looking more and more like I may end up having my receiver cut and welded to fit between the frame rails with the skid plate brackets and nuts in the frame.

I only use the front hitch for rod/cooler rack....but i'm looking for a bumper that'll work with it....preferably one with an overrider

Actually received the sliders in about 2 weeks from Qtech......If it's nice in Jersey this weekend (I know.....when is it EVER nice in Jersey ?) I'll get them installed !
Now if I could only get the Oracle "Pre Runner" grill lights I ordered from Qtech nearly 3 months ago !
