Has anyone either painted / dipped / powdercoated stock JT Rubicon wheels a bronze color? I love the style but can't stand the whole black wheel thing. Still, not worth a grand to replace them outright. Just wondering what the stock wheels would look like in bronze. Bonus points if anyone has pics mounted on a Sarge Green JT! Hopefully the pic works....

P.S. I KNOW they're not "black" per se....dark gray...whatever, you know what I mean.

I haven’t seen them repainted but if you are looking for a good color match to the sarge green, @staying_tuned painted a set of KMCs. They look really good, if not spot on.

No, I wouldn't want to color match them. Bronze, or possibly silver (but I think silver would look cheap).

I can’t leave well enough alone and nearly 100% of the time go with custom powder.

Powder coating from an actual specialist is superior to anything OEM does. I’ve powdered painted wheels the same color just for powder’s durability especially when followed with a basic spray ceramic coating at home. Mud, tar, bugs, salt/char etc. all come off easily. I ceramic my truck too and it goes from dirty pig to looking like a mall crawler with a 15 minute pressure washing job.

At $75-$90 per wheel, depending on size and stages, it’s cheaper than most color matched paint jobs.

I get samples from prismatic powder, as many as you want, just a few bucks for shipping. I buy my own powder, usually 5lbs for 30 bucks which is way more than enough for a full 5 set of wheels and anything else you want to have shot down the road. This way your guaranteed a match as batches can sometimes have slight variations.

Nice! I like that, thank you! Should've known they would use the same wheels across multiple packages.
