Yeah, test it.
A lot of highway miles or longer drives it's probably fine (ZF says 93,000 miles/150,000km) but if it's been off-roading, towing anything of substance, that sort of thing, it's probably time.
These are before and after pictures of my underneath. Looks Like I'm the first off-roader

I just ordered the bottle. Blackstone

That's just love pics 📸 I'm off road everyday. Love the factory plates underneath saved my rig plenty of time . Nothing some sandpaper and a can of rustoleum can't fix.

If I ever knew of one I would post the name and address on this site as owner beware.
Anyone substitute anything on me, and I find out - they'll wish they hadn't.
For one thing - it's not legal. Sure, how will they ever get caught, but to substitute a product like that is like a shop putting a Toyota part in a Lexus and billing for the Lexus part. Don't do it.
Nearly impossible to know about fluids like that, but just wait until I see evidence of it.
Don't put product x in my vehicle and put it down as product Y.
Our media here loves stories like that - and some dealerships have been publicly exposed by the media.
Those who do it do so because they know they can and it's really hard to find out or prove unless you are back there watching.

Had we pulled such a thing in the shops I worked in, we'd be fired on the spot, period.
You never lied to a customer, even if it made you look really bad. You always were truthful.
It's the only way I can work anyway.

I know, it's a big bad world out there, but people accepting it just makes it worse.

💯 % I bought my first motorcycle on a pay over time deal on a handshake . The people who hold to those ideals where your word is your bond and the most valuable thing you have is your name are quickly fading.

Just to be clear, the parts guy 1st said it's a lifetime fluid. I replied, I know, just rather change it. He said ok, fluid per quart was 45 dollars each, I said Wow, Then he told me about BG products and said this is a substitute that works, and most people go with this. So I don't think they are trying to scam anybody. I did have the choice when I was a Ford tech, we would recommend Wynns products to people, especially the throttle body cleaner. I just like doing my research on things before I actually change them. I should have waited before I bought it, and the only thing that stops me is that you can't get it all out of the transmission. Years ago, Ford had a plug on the torque converter that would change that, also. I would rather have full synthetic fluid than a synthetic blend, which I have read Mopar is.

I believe the 8/9 is full synthetic.
You also have to be watchful of the differences between GERMAN rules labeling and US rules. Some things in the US labeled as full synthetic will not pass muster in Germany and can't be labeled that way.

Me - I don't care as long as it's ZF because they have it specifically formulated for their own transmissions. So what can be wrong with that? ZF fluid made for that transmission.

Even draining the converter leaves a lot of fluid in the clutch packs, valve body and so on.

I know a lot of people will say "but it's the same pour point, the same viscosity and various things easily compared - however, that's starting numbers. It's also the chemistry that matters (ask the motor oil geek)
Viscosity can change over time and use. Will it hold?
Will all of the other attributes match over time and wear?
Maybe.
Will the chemistries of each conflict with each other and end up cutting wear protection or other attributes of the fluid? I don't know - does anyone? Will I gamble it will be fine?

If you watch the motor oil geek talk about changing oil brands, types, viscosities and so on (and that's what this is) - he always does it twice. He'll change the oil to the new oil run it, change it again to the new oil.

What is a ICS skid
LCA. Lower control arm. There are several bolt through options from places like rock hard 4x4 that protect your brackets. Your damage is cosmetic at this point, but it won’t stay that way for long.

He’s full of shit. Retail for mopar fluid is about 35 per quart, not 45. And I bought 8 quarts of it two days ago, at a dealer, for 26.50 per quart. Run away. That dealer is a liar and a crook.
