I live in SoCal too. My best answer for this whole thread is “DASH CAM”. When I picked up my rig and was driving the 2.5 hours home I was on pins and needles. Surprised I had a seat cushion left from the pucker factor. On the drive home from LA area I got into no less than 3 close calls in a lifted rig I was unfamiliar with. People don’t understand that even with good brakes and an averagely skilled driver stopping an armored truck on 37’s doesn’t happen on a dime. Stay safe out there.
I am definitely getting a dash cam soon!

Hostility is everywhere. Directed at one brand not so much.

In your area it's Toyota drivers, in my area it's Ram drivers.

I'm sure in other areas it's other brands.

You're just witnessing the lack of courtesy on the road. Used to be everywhere, all the time.
Now it's rare to find courtesy.
True, very true.

Where I've seen the most hostility is from Wrangler drivers. Is there some contingent of Wrangler drivers who feel offended by Gladiators or something? I mean, I kind of feel that Renegades and Compasses aren't real Jeeps, but it doesn't make me hostile at them hostile toward them....
That's surprising, here the Wranglers always wave...well not those in the rentals LOL

I think it is psychosomatic more than being any real condition in a broader sense.

We have had a couple young guys at work buy a new sports or muscle car and they come into work later telling stories thinking everybody wants to race them in normal commute traffic. 99% is them projecting that.
I am not projecting anything , its my JT that does it

No, I'm probably exaggerating a little..., but there is no mistaking when that econobox next to me is giving it all it's got to try to keep up! Especially if they were giving the "rev" beforehand.

I went with ThinkWare at Best Buy. It’s held up really good so far. It’s been from Florida to here in SoCal and this is its second vehicle. Easy to use and plugs into the ODB II for full time security.

Will look into this. Does it record when the vehicle is off as well?

Like I said, in a broader sense. Not saying single events do not happen from time to time, but if somebody is claiming to see it all the time day in and day out, they are projecting.

Kind of like you almost never recall seeing a particular vehicle on the road until you own one, then you see them everyday because your are now focused on that.

I would say it depends on what you drive too. If you stand out, people behave differently around you. The Challenger and Fairlane are flashy. My previous truck was just as quick, but subdued looking. No one tried to race it, making it all the more obvious that people were trying to race the cars.

Yep. It’s motion and vibration activated with a selectable night vision thing. I’m really not a pro at camera stuff but I’m learning so I can start a really cool YT channel and be rich and famous because I drive a Jeep. I went middle of the road with Q200(?) but they have multiple levels depending on what you’re after. My rear camera is pretty much useless with the OVS bed cap but I put it in anyway. It works and it may save me one day so I decided it’s worth it.

One thing I have noticed in my normal daily commute traffic is the Mercedes AMG and BMW M series drivers seem to get miffed if one or the other barrel passes them on the interstate, then it becomes a tit for tat thing.
