If I have the auto ac on and the truck has sat for more than 8 hours, the auto start/stop will say it up is unavailable. Stop the truck turn off and do a reset cycle and it works fine.

Update on this getting fixed today but it was a faulty wiring harness for the door. I asked if a pin was bent and he said no it was just throwing a code for some reason and they replaced the harness and its fixed. I did ask if a bent pin would cause this and he said yes it could and its actually quite a common problem so good call @Mr._Bill
I bent several pins in the drivers side door. It caused my mirrors to malfunction on both front doors. The pin harness is really awful and because they wire it through the entire dash it makes it a very expensive repair. I will have the pins replaced b it honestly Jeep should have a coupler in there to prevent the entire dash removal for a preventable and cheap pin issue. Really bad design IMO.

I seem to recall having the climate control working while doors were off........... it sure works with roof off.
In any case, why would climate control being off cause ESS to not function? Gotta be something else.
My guess is that both the climate control on/off switch and the ESS on/off switch are connected to the AUX battery which is not getting enough juice from the MAIN battery to permit big power drains to switch on. Seems to all go back to underpowered MAIN batteries that develop bad cells much sooner than expected.

ESS on/off switch? There isn't one other than that ESS disable button on the dash. ESS isn't "connected to" any specific battery because it's a whole system of things controlled by the various modules based on input from over 2 dozen things.

Climate control is also controlled by the BCM - as far as which battery it is "connected to", not so sure it's not the main because I have run tests during ESS stop events (pull up to stop light, truck shuts down via ESS) and I watched both batteries drop voltage at a similar rate. So there's a fair load on the main battery as well during an ESS stop event.
The cooling fan and EHPS are both connected directly to the main battery (main bus) but those should be off during an ESS stop.

So there is no such thing as relays on your vehicle? That is what I meant by switches - relays adjust the current flow between on/off buttons on the dashboard and whatever battery they end up drawing power from.
