I installed the 813 bracket two days go. install was as smooth as can be. I went with the single ARM and piped it out the side of my underseat metal storage box.

not gainfully employed. Too old, been there done that.
I just completed installation of an ARB twin on the 813 behind-the-seat bracket. I'm very pleased with the setup. I ended up running fused 8 ga from the battery through the firewall at the clutch hole (auto trans here). Inexpensive firewall boot keeps it dry. Ran the wiring down the driver side trim. I am currently using AUX 4 to just the purple wire on the twin to power the relay.

One thing I thought might be worthy of passing along: There is a recommendation for heat shielding on the back of the seat (fuzzy carpet melt hazard?). Instead of applying the stick on heat shield to the seat, I cut a piece of plastic shelf liner (thin but stiff) and stuck the shield to that. This piece is slid between the seat and the compressor. When the seat is lowered for compressor use, the heat shield isn't rubbed against the compressor. When the seat is raised, it rubs against the (slippery) plastic shelf liner side with no binding. I like it!.

813 mount is the ticket for me. Compressor is out of sight, reducing theft risk. And it's protected from the elements. Count me happy!

Glad it all worked out for you and you are happy with the setup. If you get a chance please share some photos of the guard you made, it sounds like a good setup!

Quick pix of heat shield doodad I'm currently using:

Leftover materials, enough to make at least one more.

Sticky shield was from 'zon, shelf liner stuff from BigOrangeStore in the garage shelving area. One important note: Any sort of plastic you want the heat shield stuff to stick to will have to be thoroughly cleaned prior to application. I'm talking borrow a bottle of pure acetone from someone who deals with removing finger nail polish, and wipe down the shelf liner well. I learned this after repeated failures of even double sided Gorilla tape to hold my brake controller knob on the dash. YMMV, of course.

Did you connect the ignition wire and illumination wire? I understand what the ignition wire is for but what is the illumination wire for?
