I put one on, thanks to forum member @Gregj who had an extra.

that looks good, i'm looking to do the same thing, I am wondering if a uncut plastic could be had for the other side that came with the hook but im not sure if that even exists. I've touched up the steel plate around the factory tow hook soon after delivery, mine has rusted more after the winter. Thinking if i clean it up again and cover that plate surround some how it'd be more protected.

I did not remove the bumper. I just tapped on the plastic to find where the hook goes in and drilled a pilot hole so I could use a Dremel tool to route out the rectangular hole. If you look closely at the left hook access hole you'll see the frame has a hole the hook passes through. Just cut with the Dremel using that rectangular hole as a guide. When you buy the hooks make sure you get the bolts with it. You will need an articulating socket wrench to tighten the forward bolt.

the Rubicon has both hooks and the plastic you need to cut is available. I don't have the part #S but I have done it!

@JeffInFLA What is the part number for the factory bezel you installed here. I can't figure out from the online parts breakdowns which part number it is. In the parts list they all look like they have the cutout already.

Hi there... I did not do the mod... yet.

But the part number is in the description on the YouTube video.

Looks like 68342090AA

I made the addition last year, and used flange head grade 10.9 bolts from McMaster-Carr, shorter than the stock bolts for easier installation but long enough to end up flush with the end of the threaded holes. They are M14x2x35 mm long.

the kit is on backorder. You can cut your hole in the bezel easily, and I prefer the McMaster flange head bolts because the lede on the stock bolts makes them too long to install easily with the bumper on the truck.

I used the All Mopar Parts kit linked above with the OEM bezel cutout on my Willys. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have forgone splitting my bumper to put the OEM cutout bezel and just cut the hole . Putting that bezel in is a major pain in the ass.

I would like to do this. Was it necessary to remove the bumper in order to install the bezel? Any tips?

Watch the video in post 17, it looks pretty involved/tedious.

This is a super simple mod. I took the rear bumper off because i was installing real rearward facing lights in place of the reflectors at the same time. I used my dremel to cut out the panel and then used a mild sanding drum on the dremel to smooth and bevel the edges to match the factory side. You have to look damn close at it and know what youre looking at to tell its a mod.

At a minimum, you need to remove the bumper if you are going to bolt in the hook.

Like mentioned already, look at post #17 for the video. It is somewhat jinky to get the two plastic halves separated to get the bezel piece out and the new one in. That bumper really was not meant to be taken apart in my opinion for sub assembly replacement.
