Does anyone know what these wires do that were unconnected, located at the left side of the drivers seat? They fit together — just curious as to what it does. I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport S with max tow. Thanks!

Well normally that's the OBD II port for diagnostics, code resetting and reading and so on. Looks to me like your dealer did what too many do and put a GPS device in there as part of their "theft prevention package" they try to sell many buyers.

There's several threads in these forums about this!

In your case they installed it incorrectly, or someone else unplugged it and just left it there.
Normally the OBD port is removed from the bracket, the GPS piggy-back harness is slid into the bracket and the OBD port plugged back into the other end of the GPS harness.

You don't need any of that stuff hanging there. The harness hanging on the floor in your top picture - take it out and toss it or hang it on the garage wall or whatever. It's dealership junk.

Below are pictures of a similar device I removed from my 2020 shortly after it fell out of the dash and onto my feet.
Then when I took delivery of my 2022 - I instantly checked and found one on it, too. Same dealership. They sell theft tracking services. Funny thing - when my wife went in and we negotiated for her 2023 JLU - same dealership, the guy in the office was showing us "options" we could get from them and he instantly crossed off the theft tracking part and said "I'm sure you folks aren't interested in this" and I laughed to myself and my wife asked why I was smiling - I told her, long story........

Thank you so much for all of the info! I'm going to throw it in the trash as suggested. Appreciate the fast response.

They do this for security or upsale but do such a lazy, sloppy job to begin with.

That's what got me about his - mine was bad enough, the first one fell off onto my left foot then dangled there in the way until I removed it. It was barely shoved up into the factory harnesses to hold it in place, the tie strap didn't do the job. The 2nd JT it was installed better.
But his? What a mess!
The kicker with mine is that I ordered them - they weren't off the lot trucks. So apparently if it comes off the truck, it gets one as a matter of prep.
Sloppy for sure. If they did a neat job, they'd not be seen even if doing work in that area.
