So is this just for shade and wind reduction in the front or are you saying that this is your set up if you think it might rain? You allow the rear of the cab to get wet?

I have seen people do this with the Bestop too. Neighbor will take off the rear and then put his Sunrider back on in case he needs the shade.

I really want the Mopar soft top but I don't want to spend 2K on when I live in Ohio.

It’s basically a free bikini top for front passengers. The rear would get almost as wet with a traditional bikini top if it was sitting in the rain. It does keep you fairly dry If you’re moving and get caught in a rain storm.

My go to with top off is my spider web shade. I’d use this setup if I want extra cover on a day I don’t want reinstall the full top. If the weather is bad for a bit the hard top goes back on. It’s actually quicker and easier to put the hard top back on than the master top bikini that I bought, so I’m returning that today.

If I had the soft top I would be sporting safari mode allot (top on with side & back windows removed). I think safari mode is best suited for the JL's longer top and not the shorter JT top.

I run Safari mode most of the summer.

why not just buy a sunrider for hardtop? I'd trust the sunrider's bolted in connection over some swing latches.

To the point, i actually do. I strip my jeep down, then put the sunrider back on. It's wonderful for red lights. That sun doesn't feel brutal unless you're stopped, so i flip my top forward at red lights and open it up when i'm going again.

Never thought of doing this but my Mopar Sun Bonnet flaps noisily on the freeway so if i take the top off this might be good to try on occasion. Also great if you need a long bed pickup (top off) on a long trip.
