1) is this base sport manual or auto?
2) does it have a tow package or nothing?
3) can you share a photo of the door card sowing GVWR and Payload?

1) Auto
2) No tow package on mine

That truck has power windows, makes it a Sport S, not a base Sport. A base Sport has manual windows. Jeep named them Sport and Sport S in an effort to confuse folks.

This is the base sport with Rubicon take off wheels/tires and a temp side steps from a JL. It since has some NFab Nerf bars, a EAG bumper, a winch and several stickers to dress it up a bit.

that's so strange... doesn't seem like your configuration fits on this chat... the only auto that is meant to get 6250GVWR is with max tow.

to me, your fender flairs look like they have the little extra lip that only comes on max tow.

It did't say Sport S on the back, just Sport.

Sorry about my original post. It DOES have max tow, but the window sticker says it is a SPORT not SPORT S with optional power windows. I can't find any reference to an extra 'S' in any of my other documentation, either.

I can only agree with you. Jeep just does this to confuse people. And it works. They really should have had 4 different and distinct names for the 4 different models, not two with almost the exact same names, my humble opinion.

In addition to the power windows, mirrors and locks there’s a few other differences. Lots of options that you can get on a Sport S that you can’t get on the base Sport model, the trail rail system being a good example.

All Sport S trucks have SPORT on the tailgate and SPORT on the window sticker. The 23/24S package makes it an S, not a base Sport. You will never see SPORT S on any truck or window sticker.

It is really simple, if your Sport has power windows, you have a Sport S. If you have manual windows, you have the base Sport. Jeep screwed the pooch by trying to make them separate models. They're the same, but one has more options.

If they're the same and only differ in options... why can you not put heated seats on a base sport? I am trying to find out if the wiring and/or weather proofing of electronics are different between a sport and sport s.

the base sport is the bare bones model and well that's why it's a base. Trust me they don't want you to buy the base sport, they hope you will be seduced by the better options of the sport s and give them more money lol they might have different wireing harnesses as well

I was going to go for the base sport, no options.... just to make videos on the lowest cost to Gladiator ownership... I think you're right, plus the base sport is there for advertisements to fake the Gladiator being obtainable for $33k.

until I found out the base sport manual only has 1200 payload and you have to get the sport s to get 1600 payload in the manual (cannot have a tow package).

I wanted the manual wind windows so they're on the door not in the centre, but I've heard FCA & Jeep wind down windows stop holding over time and slip down over bumps (what I've heard, not expirenced myself). In the end I need more payload so i'm paying $7000 more for better springs and other fancy features...

gotta admit though... my '90 miata isn't bad with manual locks... but the GIANT jeep key would suck without power locks. so in the end im not too sad...

also the base steel wheels look good in photos and renders, but crap in real life.
I don't know why we don't call them the base and the sport (s) to make it easy but the steel wheels are the easiest way to tell.

Just picked up my base Sport model. Yes Bigfoot does exist. Took way too long and they ended up not having enough time to install my hard tonneau or my step bars. But the sales guy and I put on my Bestop Sunrider. Grab handles fit easily around the roll bar. Going back tomorrow to get the tonneau and step bars put on. A few pictures for now. Oh and yes I loved the ride.

The Sport S gives you power windows, mirrors and locks and silver wheels. And with the Sport S you can get other options that you can’t get on the base Sport, trail rail system being a good example.

So cool, man! Grab some Rubicon take-offs, a 1.5" level kit, the cheap LED headlight/foglight bulbs and that thing will be perfect, for HUGE savings.
