Went to the dealer today to get some recalls done. I mentioned the center console issue, and asked him to check for TSB.

They apparently found one. Note says ,”Inspect, found TSB for issue.” Correction - “Update radio per TSB complete.”

Tried CarPlay on the way home, and it worked for the first time in ages. About 45 minute drive. I am optimistic.

My center one doesn't work for longer than like 10mins... and I picked up the car just a week ago. Do most dealers check for this stuff before delivery? I already reached out and they said I can bring the truck in to get looked at but I just haven't had time to run it in.

My center console works for a few min and then fails, as others have reported. The earlier post about looking for TSB warnings implies that the only root cause we have implicates the factory head unit (as opposed to, say, faulty connectivity between the head unit and the port in the center console). I see some good looking replacements for the factory head unit (e.g. Alpine; albeit far from cheap) and wondering if anyone has had luck with aftermarket units reviving the secondary USB?

I use Android auto, yes, one of those guys LOL. My center console has worked great for 4.5 years, no issues until about a week ago. Same as others with Apple, about 10 minutes in it looses the connection and has an error on the screen. I hate the dash mount so much that I didn't even think to try that one, will give it a go and see. I was thinking it was the head unit or I needed a new phone (feel free to add in "get an iphone" joke here) but sounds like it is the plug in the center console. I agree with everyone else though, nice to plug it in and just get the phone out of sight and no cables in your face coming out of the dash.

My 21' the dash and center both connect.
