I recently purchased a new iPhone 15 Pro and notice CarPlay no longer works. I read on other forums where it appears when Apple switched to the new port this is now a common issue from other manufacturers and Stelantis products. My CarPlay worked flawlessly on an iPhone 11, 12, and 14 Pro but now with the 15 Pro, nothing. I tried four different cables including the supplied one from Apple. Is anyone else having this issue? Has anyone been able to rectify this?

mine works but i have to really push in the cable to my 15 pro max to get carplay to connect. sometimes i have to reconnect the cable a few times. its getting annoying. i use an anker usb-c to usb-c cable to the dash.

I have a 15 Pro and noticed that establishing the connection requires a firm push of the cable and the iPhone unlocked seems to have more success. I used a generic cable at first and just switched to another cable. It seems better, but too soon to state for sure.

This sounds like a hardware issue. If your are really pushing the cable into the phone to get it to connect than the problem starts with Apple. I have a 12 now and getting ready to upgrade but will look to the Pixel 8 if this remains an issue. I know it's early but does anyone have any info on the new Google Androids?

So update, I have to give it a solid firm push, and it seems to be working perfectly now

Mine wants to be unlocked at the time it is plugged in to the truck. I think there is a software glitch with Jeep since I was recently driving a rental Tahoe and it connected every time immediately.

No issue on my end. Not that it should matter but I'm using the apple usb c cable that came with my phone.

iPhone 15 Pro here and I'm not having any issues at all here. I'm using the included USB C cable. There should be no issues with proprietary cables with USB C. Apple does not enforce anything proprietary here -- but there are obviously good and poor quality cables out there...

This time around, I decided not to pair the new iPhone via BT. I don't particularly like how BT hand off works and this gives me flexibility to only use the iPhone with the Jeep's system when physically connected. I'm happy with this arrangement so far.

*Edit: Also, I find that using the iPhone's native microphone array is much better under adverse noise conditions, and can be a dance to switch from BT (especially if you use third-party apps like Teams or Zoom where the switch is very laggy). While the Jeep system is pretty good, it is nowhere near as good as using the direct handset when you need a clear call...

I was seriously worried when I first saw this post. I was planning on ordering a 15 this week. I'm on 11, and I'd like to get everything to usbc in my life. Glad to see others are not having issues or just having to really plug in the cable.

Yea you’ll love the 15 compared to an 11. I have the 11 as a work phone and it is a night and day difference. I’m glad it was user error. I guess I had muscle memory or the lazy lightning cable where as the usb c needs a good firm press and it works now!

Ditto here, have to unplug and plug the Apple cable 2-3 times to my 15 Pro Max and then magically it will work. I guess I'm finally just getting that proper connection. Never ran into this with the 12 Pro. I ordered an Anker USBC cable yesterday hoping it would help, but it sounds like it may not from what I'm seeing here. Frustrating!
