Well my ARE topper finally arrived! Check out the pics and let me know what you think. All in all I'm happy with it, and disappointed in the small details for a item that is this expensive.

That looks great. I’m looking to order one in the next week or so. Did you get the OTR finish or is that just black? I have a black roof on a blue gladiator, so I’m definitely going to match the black roof. Just not sure how the OTR finish is going to look

It is NOT the OTR finish. It is Matt Black. My dealer and myself tried several color match black options for the hardtop. Even the Jeep (mopar) touch up pen. We were told no from ARE on all of them. And then they charged me a extra $100 because matt black is custom.
I did not goth with OTR based off of others recommendations and I'm glad I didn't.

It looks great. I still haven't made up my mind between this and the RSI. By the time I added all the option to the AREmthe savings wasn't that much. Interesting to point out that several of the options aren't available on the HD model so it comes out cheaper. Also, the OTR finish is expensive!

I ended up $2854 out the door. Obviously I could have try to add thousands to it. It would have been nice to know what options are actually available for it before ordering and be told NO.
I do really like that it is a USA company and built in the states.

I just ordered an ARE in otr. Not an HD though because the rated weight is on the crossbars only which aren't removable. The rest of the cap is non HD weight capacity.

I also ordered the topper ez lift system and tent.

They definitely are not ment to be removed. But 8 screws (I think) and WAM the bars are off and 4- 1 1/4" holes are left in the topper.
I personally was not a fan of the thought of putting #170-190 pounds on a rack that's only rated for 200. Then driving off road. Only a week or two a year, but still. Then adding #300 + and sleeping up there 20-30 a year.

Is there a color code that A.R.E. used for your matte black? I keep looking at the pics you posted and think you nailed the color.

Show your dealer this picture and they will be able to pull the paint code up. Black is obviously hard to photograph but here it is in my garage side by side.

it looks like the shell/topper sits above the paint on the bed rails? My last one rubbed the paint off on top of the bed rail on my Ram.
I think the paint matches great without have to spend the $$ for the OTR finish.

Thanks for the barcode, my dealer was able to look it up and I’ve got the matte black on my order. A.R.E. raised the price for custom color from $100 to $300 in 2021, but my sales guy emailed his rep right when I was sitting there and they honored the 2020 pricing. Now the waiting begins until it arrives... one week down.

Keep us updated! I've got a hydro blue JT w/ black hardtop, and have been searching everywhere for pics of our Gladiators with a matte-black-matched A.R.E. topper. Looking forward to the pics once you get it installed!

I am getting cuoted $4200 before tax in the DFW area for a CX HD. Seems like an armed robery compare to what others have paid.
