What I really don't understand is the used market on these things. Used car dealers are asking more for a 2-3 year old Gladiator with 20k-30k miles than a new 2023 can be had for. Are the used ones even selling at this point?
If they took the Gladiators in trade around and before October 2023, they may be into them for a bit more coin before the trade in prices fell off a cliff and before the 10% and 15% new rebates rolled out. Many dealerships are in denial and sales managers rather kick the can as long as possible rather than report a loss or hope for a softened loss to ownership. They can only do it for so long though as they will also get pinched by floor plan costs the longer they hold it.

One of the most prominent used car dealers in my state, if not the biggest, just up and closed I think 11 dealerships across 3 states late January. Their stuff was wildly overpriced.

I have a 2021 Sport S and like it very much. But as I add some of mods I want to do the rubicon starts to look closer to what I want in the long run. Does this deal look good? Are trade-ins coming close to KBB is quoting?
thank you all
We just received some new incentives on the Gladiator. Here's the new pricing available on the Gladiator you were interested in:

What time today can you make it in for a test drive?
I was actually looking at this same Gladiator on Heritage's website a few days ago. Nice Jeep.

The good thing is that you do not need a Jeep. Figure out an amount that you are willing to pay for the Rubicon with your trade and offer that amount to the dealer as an out the door price. If they take your offer great. If they do not, you still have a nice Jeep to drive.

I personally like firecracker red, but a lot of people do not, so I think you are in the driver's seat on this one.

I like it also. It is hard to find credible numbers of percentages of colors sold for a given model, but I remember seeing something early on from the JL side that showed of all the base colors that were not limited runs, red was the least popular in like low single digit percentages.

You kind of have to figure that out yourself. Numbers can be given to you but not knowing exactly what options you want or a particular vehicle you are referencing, it is way subjective. IMHO, anything that is 20%-25% off MSRP with rebates and dealer discount is doing good.

20 % off is a thing now. Very vague on the website as far as what it applies to, but it’s on there.
My zip code doesn't show the 20% offer, just the 15%.

When I pop in your zip code, it shows this for the details:

I bet that is for a base Sport. Those are slow movers.

Everything has been pretty picked over in my area. The 2023 models with good options that are left seem to have the national incentives with the dealer offering little more. The diesel Rubicons are also pretty much gone with only 4 left within 100 miles. Strangely, the one that had the most unique/cool spec was the most the most discounted. The granite with the saddle interior is a great combo.......

I bought my 23 Mojave in late November. MSRP was 62.8. I got them to 48.3. Very little flexibility past the “advertised internet price”, but there was a good bit of flexibility on my trade (2021 JLU). Ended up getting a pretty awesome deal overall.

When I was shopping around, I saw a lot of variability with how deep dealers were willing to go. 20% should be the starting point, and 23% is possible at numerous dealers. However, some are still acting like the base 15% is a “great deal”…it’s not.

I’d be willing to bet that 25% is possible, but probably a gigantic pain to find and negotiate. Also may not be the perfect vehicle at that point, but more about the perfect price. I’d say anything over 20% is pretty solid if it’s the truck you want.

Agree! The Dark Saddle leather is a great look. I wish they offered it on Mojave, but instead they did the light gray leather option. Not a huge fan.

Asked about a Sport S and this is what they sent me. Lol, these guys are high on crack. Sure I'ts about 22% off MSRP (which is still more than it's worth), but then they ask for the other BS charges with a straight face. I haven't purchased a new vehicle since 2018, but I don't remember this level of thievery being a thing.

I guess it is how one looks at it. The LoJack and Oil Change program you can take off right off the bat. The taxes and tags are going to be a static cost regardless once final numbers are figured. That leaves Dealer Closing Fees at $649 and the Nitrogen, Tint & Door edge guards for a cost of $547.

The Dealer Closing fees is I assume just a different wording for documentation fee. Most dealers in a given area collude on that cost and usually unmovable so that will be a take it or leave it affair. In my area, it is usually a $499 fee.

That pretty much just leaves figuring out what the Nitrogen, Tint & Door edge guards at $547 factors in at. If they have already put it on, you can negotiate that down as that is usually a 100% markup cost for them if not more.

On a sliding scale of dealerships sticking it to you, they are only sticking the tip in.
