AUX switch kit install. Auto start stop error

Morning all,, hope one of you Jeep gurus can help me out.
I have a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon, purchased it back in August 2023. It’s pretty much loaded up with the exception of the Aux switches.
Last week I installed the Mopar kit, everything went well. During the install I did not hook up the power and ground wires but installed everything else. I did not start or move the Jeep till this morning a week after the install. When I started driving I got the auto start stop message on the gauge cluster. (Service auto start stop system). Ive been racking my brain trying to figure out what could of caused this and even if it’s related to the AUX switch install, being the only thing I added to to the stock electrical system was the orange wire, I’m sure you guys that have installed this kit are familiar with the orange wire. I just hooked up the power and ground wires thinking maybe that had something to do with it but it didn’t.

Yes. I have a funny feeling it’s the orange wire. But not sure what it does

Also I have not used Jscan to enable the switches yet, want to solve this problem first.

Try Charging the batteries. Sitting for a week is not good for them. The JT has a large parasitic draw from the computers, head unit, and alarm. It needs a battery maintainer or daily driving.

Well I checked all my wiring today, everything looks good. I don’t think it’s the batteries being the Jeep sits for a week at a time, and I never had a problem. I basically only drive it on Saturday. The only thing left is to enable the switches, I just don’t understand how that will solve the issue and don’t want to change anything else that may make the problem worse. Anybody have any ideas?

The problem is the batteries, since the truck is not driven regularly. The JT has a fairly large parasitic draw, especially with the Uconnect 8.4 head unit. It needs a battery maintainer when parked, if not driven several times a week for at least thirty minutes. It will start and run with low battery levels, but the electronics are not very happy about it. The message you are seeing is one of the indicators that the batteries need charging.

I’ll hook up the charger, but it seems very strange that the problem started after the switch install. Once I figure this out, I’m going to do away with the start stop feature. Dumbest thing I’ve ever had in a vehicle.

ESS does save fuel, but for many it is just an annoyance. It is there, with a default to on, Thanks to the EPA.

Smart Stop Start is a forum sponsor. They sell a device for $129 that plugs in under the dash. It keeps the ESS setting where you want it, instead of defaulting back to on every time.

Hopefully, it's just coincidence that the problem came up after the install. It probably sat just long enough to drop below the threshold to show the error message.
