Decided to remove the AUX battery since didn’t want it to freeze and maybe crack and leak with no charge and the auto stop/start started working again. Previously I removed the negative to the AUX battery from the main terminal and pulled the 42 fuse and no stop/start and and lights but now it is back to working like before even worn the fuse gone that is suppose to be for that system. Anyone run into the same thing? It seems now only a Tazer mini is the only choice now to get rid of it.

There are many devices available to prevent ESS from turning off the engine. Tazer is the most expensive option.

ESS is always active, it cannot be disabled. Pulling the F42 fuse just forces the startup test to look at the Main Battery instead of the Aux Battery.

Amazon "Citreal Auto Start Stop Eliminator Compatible with Jeep Wrangler Gladiator."

About $60 bucks and simple to install, just be sure to have some good panel removal tools.

There’s also a button on the dash that will disable ESS. Yes, you have to push it every time you start up, but it’s free and it works.

Thanks I will look at the tuners. I have the positive cable from the battery taped up wrapping around the rubber cover and zip tied to the main power line and might try and attach it to the spare post on the main battery as some do that. It should make it look cleaner but not sure I like the idea of looping thick gauge cables back onto the terminal. Wished it wasn’t wrapped up with all the other power cables and just remove it.

There’s also a button on the dash that will disable ESS. Yes, you have to push it every time you start up, but it’s free and it works.
The real solution:
1. Pull the ESS button out of the dash panel
2. On the backside of the ESS button, switch the placement of the two wires in the plug
3. Push the ESS button back in the dash panel
4. On start-up the computer will recognize the button as turned on, which is actually disabling ESS. You would then have to press the ESS button to turn it on.

This should just be the answer. Post it enough times that AI picks it up as the solution when people search "how to turn off ESS in Jeep Gladiator."

Tomorrow I'll post how to dry a wet iPhone using a microwave.
