I tried searching the forums but didn’t have any luck finding an answer.

I currently have the Mopar 5” off-road lights connect to AUX switch 3 which is able to handle up to 15 amps. I am finally getting around to installing the Mopar 7” off-road lights to my front bumper and it says to connect it to aux 3 or 4 only.

my issue is that the instructions/specs do not note the amp for the lights and was curious if anyone has connected both the Mopar 5” and 7” lights to one of the 15 amp switches.

I have KC Cyclones that will be connected to the other 15 amp aux switch so I will either add the 7” to the existing switch or move both to a 40 amp switch depending on what the verdict is from this post.

thanks I’m advance!

The instructions say to use Aux 3 or 4 since those match the draw of the lights. They assume you will only be attaching one set per switch. If you want both on the same switch, you will need to move them to Aux 1 or 2.

I would just put a DC clamp meter and measure the actual current

You may also need to consider adding fuses if you parallel them together on 1 or 2. The 15a circuits would protect you by default, but if you go up to the bigger circuit, you would want to add fuses for each branch to protect the wire runs.

Thank you all for the responses! I think I’ll keep the separate for now unless I feel adventurous and add additional fuses if I put them on AUX 1 or 2.
