Backup camera goes blank

Has anyone had a problem with their backup camera. Mine will some times go blank when put in reverse. After it has been parked for awhile and I start it up again it is working. Any thoughts? I would take it to the dealer but they told me it would have to be not working for them to look at it.

Pull the plate off the inside of your tail gate and make sure the camera connection is tight. Mine did this intermittently for a while and that was my issue.

I had a similar issue. Was getting to be about 50% failure rate.

Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the coax connection at the camera itself, as well as in the body, just past the tailgate penetration. Didn't really help. What did help mine was to blast both of those with electrical contact cleaner. Hasn't failed since (knock on wood).
