Back story:
I paid a shop to install my ARBs and gears recently. 300 miles since the install, I’ve been following the break in suggestions. The day I picked it up I noticed a slight howl between 40-50, assumed it was the gears setting in.

Today:
In preparation for a long road trip I wanted to change the fluids and install my new ARB covers. Upon removing the cover I find my airline looking like a 3rd grader installed it, look a little deeper I see the pinion bearing cage is bent.

Lesson learned:
Do it yourself or don’t cheap out on the shop you choose.

I don't see the harm in the copper air line, it's not touching anything is all that matters. The howling and the bent bearing cage is no good though.

stuff like this is exactly why I was, and still am leery of a regear at any point. Ive heard far too many stories over the years where the install was botched or it was done "right" and the diff just howled like a monster for the rest of their existence.

I get this, I once took a Nissan Titan in for exhaust work the manifolds had rotted out due to age, I purchased a set shortie headers to pep it up since it was needing replaced, took it to the dealer to get it done thinking it would be done right... 600 miles later I was re-replacing the entire exhaust system because the dealer kid who was trying to install the headers broke bolts in the cat flange like normal but when he burnt them out he melted the cat and clogged it up. Anyone who has experienced clogged exhaust knows that feeling of cranking and then pushing on the gas and nothing but dead truck. Anyways I took it to a muffler shop and they were like WTF did you take it to the dealer for exhaust work and it wasnt warranty.

point of the story if you are getting gears done take it to people who do gears (offroad shops) whos business depends on them doing it right. Not dealers who primarlily make money off some list of time requirements and parts prices.

Take it back and have them fix it… if it isn’t done right the first time they need to fix it.
