Picked up this beauty for just over $500….$559 for HF club member and 10% off for using their credit card. Install was smooth. The winch has great reviews so I’m not bashing the winch, but unfortunately I am going to have to uninstall and return. The little switch that allows for wireless remote is broken! Only the wired remote works. Will take another 3-4 hours to uninstall and replace. Had it all wired, zip tied etc.. So…before installing, check this little switch for proper functioning!!!

Just called HF - they are sending a replacement control box. Still going to require some work and rewiring, but at least I don't have to pull the entire bumper apart and remove the winch itself.

Reviews I've read about these say HF is very responsive and they'll send you replacement parts without problem. One guy literally cracked his control box portion in an extreme pull and was able to order what he needed to fix it. Nice to know you can get parts!

One thing I have noticed with anything from Harbor Freight is it either breaks within 15 min of using for the first time or it seems to last forever. I have had a few power tools from there that didn't even work or broke on first use. Luckily they have a good return policy so if one doesn't work you can just exchange it.
